Even though its totally justified...all the negativity is killing me. On a positive note, Nikita's little floater along the baseline for the bucket was smooth!!!

I'm with B&G. That was a nice move by Nikita. He's got some touch (and, most importantly) three more seasons left with the team. He's going to turn into a solid contributor by the time his career is over, especially if he can get the strength necessary to play some decent defense. He can definitely turn into a great offensive spark plug off the bench before all is said and done.

You know, these kids are supposed to be students. He practiced all last year without any chance of getting PT. He really played hard in the summer league also. He deserves a chance to play. Since the orange game, he has done everything he was asked to do without any mistakes. I sat there this afternoon and wondered when JT3 was going to bring he back in. No one could hit the broad side of a barn, why not let the redshirt frosh take a crack? I don't think he is the solution to our shooting problems, but who knows?, maybe he could be.

Nikita is NOT a cure for what ails us. One reason is because he is a blast from our "diamond in the rough" past. I like diamonds in the rough. But they're in the rough because they're usually not as good.
Now I think Nikita is a good player and has strong upside given he has 4 more years. But we can't be investing in Darrel Owens right now. JTIII has to find a way to make this work because you win with talent. You win with Gregs and not Nikitas. III knows this because he's recruiting these guys.
If we can't work this out and we lose another couple guys to the NBA or elsewhere, it's not a good situation. Put it his way, if we're starting Clark, Freeman, Hollis, Vaughn, and Sims next year, we've lost considerable momentum.
III has to fix this. And he doesn't do it with Nikita. I'm quite sure he's aware.

I'd really like it if we got to see Senior Omar and Senior Nikita contribute in a couple of years, rather than seeing posts on the board asking where they are now, like there were with Egerson a couple of days ago.

I completly agree and I to watched the game thinking that JT3,will put him back in but it never happened. He imo has played really decent when he gets out there and plays and I think he deserves more playing time than what he is getting now.

It really is a woeful state of affairs if we're discussing Nikita's lack of playing time at this point in the season.

I kinda think Blue was just saying that Nikita made a nice move......not that he was our savior, or anything.
It was just a complement

I don't think that Nikita is a "savior" for us at all - but I do think it is fair to ask whether giving more time to Nikita might light a fire under Austin's butt. He has always seemed to play a "smooth" game without any ups or downs, but it doesn't look like he has any intensity at all out there the last couple of games. Maybe a little reminder would be good for him and for everybody on the team.
