It's not working on the offensive end with these 2 in the game at the same time. I believe Jeff (in my view clearly our best post player) didn't take his first shot until 11 minutes had gone by and then he only took 6 or so shots, 2 of which were 3-pointers that he can get anytime. It's not so simple as saying that the offense runs more smoothly when Hibbert is out, because we would really like to have them in there together for defense and rebounding purposes, both of which drop off when Roy exits.
Part of it is that Jeff needs to be a little more aggressive taking guys to the hoop when he gets the ball - good things seem to happen when he does it. But it seems part of it is also the offensive sets. Both Jeff and Roy seem to be good passers but most of their passes are standing at the top of the key and dishing to a guard. How about some more high-low post passes between the two of them?

very good point. i agree. with hibbert up top, a big man on the opposing team has to come with him (at least to the free throw line). why not have green flashing from both blocks when this happens. of course, green on the blocks cuts down the lanes to the basket that are integral to the princeton offense. wouldn't hurt to try it a few times though, like when we really need a bucket or after a timeout.

LOVED the play last night in the second half where Roy got it near the top of the key, took two dribbles, and dished to Ashanti cutting for the layup. Looked like the big fella can handle better than some of our guards.....

I think Roy exhibits some of that gangliness that you would expect from a 7'2" 18-year-old, but it's not like he's tripping over his feet every time he steps on the floor. The play you mentioned, and others, shows he can handle the ball some. I also think that a lot of his awkwardness comes from trying to learn the offense.

I think playing them together is fine. Given our success, we fail to remember Green, Wallace, and Hibbert are still freshman. As freshman, they have played above and beyond the call of duty. There will be awkward moments and ill-advised plays from them throughout the year. I think we will be fine.

If Hibbert would work on that awkward sky hook, we'd be even better! Green should be hitting more jump hooks in the lane in my opinion and Hibbert should be dunking alot more. Stay away from the sky hook until you've worked on it for some time and can hit it on a consistent basis.

Don't know if anyone saw it, but Green got some good press from Jay Bilas on espn.com, best freshman in the Big East, not that we didn't already know that! He also had some good words on Brandon Bowman last night on college gameday/night. Is there a full moon or something. Next thing you know, Dickie V will be calling Duke overrated.

Jeff Green leads the team in assists overall. It's perfectly normal, given the offense being run.

I'll take the glass half full. Other than a poor hook early, Roy seemed to be much more aware of his options. Made a couple of great skip passes. With those long arms, how are you going to defend that? Yogging and Cam's observations are very well-taken. The dish to Ashanti was great, and a little high-low with Jeff would be nice. I would hope it is in the works, especially if we are scrapping to get Jeff a little more involved early. BTW, did anyone give Jeff Green's mom a copy of "Jeff Green's Mom?"
