I'm even more disappointed than Bando, because I still haven't seen it. NCAA games ran late so I figured I'd just catch it on their website the next day. Anybody regularly watch at scifi.com? Do the episodes typically take a few days to show up? They aren't rebroadcasting it until next friday. It won't be up on Hulu until 8 days after the date of original airing, so I think you're screwed in that department. Does your cable provider have an On-Demand capability? This was on On Demand for me (I have Comcast) after midnight Friday.

the starbuck resolution was terrible, i knew i would be disappointed going in and prepared myself for that but Starbuck is an angel was the worst possible thing other than if they had Hera personally comandeering the gallactica. everybody is going to break up into small tribes around the world? and that will be nice and relaxing rewad? sounds like a teribly harsh and difficult existence

I think the recent special they had on SciFi (I think it was called "BSG: The Last Frakkin' Special" or something like that) informs the final episode of this series.
For the most part it was really one of those general retrospectives any show has, the cast & crew all talking nice or making jokes about each other, everyone reminiscing on what they will miss about it, etc., etc.
There was a moment toward the end of the special though that I thought about while watching the finale. Ron Moore was basically talking about the meeting they had before writing the final episode and how he was up all night wondering how to wrap everything up. The next morning, he walked into the writer's room, went up to the whiteboard and wrote, "It's the characters, stupid!"
He basically admitted to not knowing how to tie up all of the plot points and focused instead on providing resolution for all of the characters. And he said he did this because the characters, not the storylines, were the driving force behind the show all along (I agree with him on that).
Was I completely satisfied with the end of this show? Hell no. The final confrontation was solved (resolved?) all too easily, as Bando points out, and the rest of the episode was a little too drawn out. (I remember looking at the clock when the confrontation in the CIC was over and saying to myself, "What the hell are they going to do now for a whole 'nother hour?") But I was happy with it for the most part.
Starbuck as an "angel" was actually not that bad, IMO, but I think they needed to develop that a little earlier if that's where they were going with her. It felt too forced, kind of like they didn't know what to do with Starbuck until some writer poked his head up and said "angel." It seemed rushed into the last few episodes and doesn't really explain the rest of her life leading up to this.
Tyrol killing Tori was probably one of the strongest "character" moment of the whole thing, even though you could see that coming a mile away.
Anyway, I am not 100% satisfied (prepare yourselves, because we are not going to be 100% satisfied with the end of Lost next year either), but overall, I am happy.
I don't think I am planning to watch "Caprica" at all, seems kind of dumb, but I am looking forward to "The Plan," which I think is supposed to come out next fall, yes?

chief killing tori was definately the best part even though he was always saying he didnt end up with the right person and that although callie wasnt the end all be all love of his life he of course had lots of strong deep feelings for her. what happened to his/hot dog's kid? i never liked that chief was able to just drop the kid and wash his hands of it, maybe they could have used some of the endless earth scenes to throw in a scene with him saying goodbye to hotdog.
i am sure everybody loved that romo was made president and is the viewers voice later saying he believe their is not more of an issue here with the plan to settle earth and leave everything behind, he could have made that moment perfect by saying something about how they are setting themselves up to forget their past and dooming their children to some day repeat it which of course is what has happened with earth 1, kobol and caprica before.
i am very excited for the plan movie thing and will watch caprica at least at the start, I dont expect too much from it but it could be good.
