A must get. Don't care if he has any skills, we just need that name im a big believer that an awesome name trumps talent any day. case in point: Joaquin Phoenix, awesome name, not great acting

as far as I can tell he's a sophomore and will have two years left.....haven't seen our name speciffically mentioned but seems like morea and more big east schools are getting involved...don't mean to start rampant speculation just wanted to know if we were by any chance on him or not

DO WANT
I don't know what the guys deal is, if he is an academic problem or if he's interested in graduating or if he's interested in Georgetown or we're interested in him or any of that. But on the surface he looks like almost exactly what we need right now. I would love to get a JUCO big man who'll be around for 2 years and give us solid rebounding and hustle off the bench. Then we can reuse the scholarship in 2011, when there are several frontcourt players with interest. I know JTIII is serious about academics and graduating, and I know a lot of JUCO guys are playing JUCO to begin with because they weren't great students. I also know that JUCOs are not a natural fit at Georgetown due to the time needed to become comfortable with the offense. But if academics check out and the guy is willing to come and try to learn our offense, this is the exact kind of guy I'd like to see us pursue to be a stop gap up front in light of the Macklin transfer, the impending Monroe early departure (hopefully not til after next year) and the loss of previous recruits Braswell and Riley. If it's not him, I'd love somebody else with a nearly identical profile.

This guy does sound like what we need. Would be even better if his name were Amos Famous.

Famous originally committed to Hartford in high school. He went to CC and blew up. Binghamton was recruiting him in his freshman year until he started hearing from Big East schools.
What turned Famous into a Big East recruit when he used to be an America East recruit? Probably hype, more than anything. JUCO ball in Westchester is not very good and I doubt his league has seen many 6'11 centers.

We can feed him. Hire Sweets to be his strength and conditioning coach.
