He called two more techs in last nights upset of Wake Forest. On players sitting on the bench? Not exactly, but you're close. From what I saw it was a double tech, one of which was called on McFarland, as he was walking to his bench and yelled "Let's Go!" to his teammates. Apparently his tech was for getting in the way of Diakite's body check. Incidentally, the tech was McFarland's 5th foul and he had to sit the rest of the game out.

He called two more techs in last nights upset of Wake Forest. On players sitting on the bench? Not quite that bad, but the one I saw last night was a double technical called when a VT player bumped into a WF guy right after a timeout was called. The replays clearly showed that the WF player was not even looking at or paying attention to the guy who bumped him. It was his 5th personal as well - and a really terrible call. Was it really Cahill who called that T? If so, someone really neeeds to review his qualifications for the job, as thats two horrific Ts at critical times in big games.

Nothing is Definite joey.
That said, we win against dook if Greg is not handcuffed - definitely!
The guys have had a few days now to focus on US, not them.
We run our stuff, we win PERIOD.

And it is highly unlikely Cahill will be assigned to this game. Officials are never "announced" at the game venue, at least not over the PA system. There's a defined period--I think between 30 and 10 minutes prior to the game--when they're on the court monitoring things (you'll recall last year I believe a USF player received a pre-game technical for dunking during this time). I get asked a fair amount in my section who the officials are when they're milling about during layup lines. My guess is you'll see a comparatively lesser known crew tonight, purely based on law of averages. We've had two Cahill-Stephens-Corbett lineups already, and have seen Jim Burr in three non-conference games. EDIT: There's one school I know of that puts the officiating crew in the Game Notes before gameday (least they did last year): Louisville.

WVU fact of minor interest:
One of my good friends at law school is a WVU grad. He was shocked to learn the way the 4 point GPA scale works at our school. Apparently, at WVU it is possible to get + and - grades on transcripts, but everything counts as a full grade GPA-wise. For example, a B, B+, and B- all count as a 3.0.
I find this bizarre.
