3 seed in the South. Don't think this means anything. Just the messenger. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketologyAnd for those without Insider, Lunardi's detailed comments: Georgetown I really thought the Hoyas were going to end Notre Dame's homecourt winning streak. Instead, we have to drop Georgetown one seed line due to the 2-2 start in the Big East. Seed Report: S-Curve history: 18 (Nov. 12), 7 (Dec. 23), 5 (Jan. 5), 12 (Jan. 12). Bracket Bytes: Odds to remain 1-4 seed: 65 percent. Good Wins RPI 1-25: Memphis, @connecticut RPI 26-50: none Bad Losses RPI 101-200: none RPI 201+: none Banter away...

Anyone know any good bars in Minneapolis? I'm booking my flight tomorrow.

Are you still a #1 seed if you have to play Carolina before the final four anyway?

Hey on the plus side, with a GU-MTSU and Purdue-BC doubleheader on day one in the Metrodome, you could probably bring your entire Northwest Airlines flight with you to the game.
I recall opening Thursday afternoon in 2007 on the street outside the LJVMC in Winston-Salem, scalpers were trying to get rid of the GU-Belmont/Texas Tech-BC session tickets for about 10 bucks--face value of my upper level ticket was $58.

Interesting to see he has Syracuse as winning the BET, but still gives Pitt and UCONN a #1 seed and 'cuse a #2 seed.

i'd take that bracket in a heartbeat. Oklahoma at #2 doesn't scare me.

Interesting to see he has Syracuse as winning the BET, but still gives Pitt and UCONN a #1 seed and 'cuse a #2 seed. That's not how he does it. Syracuse currently leads the Big East, so they are his pick for Big East champion. This is clearly a situation that we are required to rectify.

Ah, ok, I always wondered why his picks didn't make sense. And, yes, it is a situation that requires immediate attention

Those are done by Jerry Palm from CollegeRPI.com - a good analyst who is apparently doing work for CBS. I have a lot more respect for him than I do Lunardi. Good to know.

I'm sorry, but I just don't think UConn will get a no. 1 seed. What possible evidence is out there that they're as good as or superior to Pitt, Syracuse, Gtown, ND, or Louisville? Seriously? How much mileage are you supposed to get out of win over Gonzaga?

No change in seed, but this time a three in the West. However, Lunardi says the following of note about us regarding our schedule: 8. John Thompson III clearly does not share his father's scheduling philosophy. Who's next for Georgetown? The Celtics? Link: sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3844383

so, coast2coast,
you have respect for Jerry Palm when he has us as a 5 seed? A 5 seed? seriously? when he has Marquette as a 3? and Cuse as a 4?
he looks at records when making this projection. nothing more, nothing less.

Just to make sure, that post by c2c was written last week so things have changed. Anyone notice that Andy Glockner is now at SI? i hadnt noticed till today. he does his whole "who is a lock, who should be, and who is in the mix thing". BE and ACC are where you think they should be but what is shocking is that the SEC has no locks as of now! sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/andy_glockner/01/19/bubble.watch/index.html

Thanks for the link. I'd been wondering why Glockner's column hadn't appeared on ESPN.

Strictly hypothetically speaking ... as defines this entire escapade at this point ... I would think Gonzaga comes out smelling like a rose as a 6 seed, but theoretically playing the #3 Az. St in Portland. For what it is worth, I think it is interesting that projections like this, clearly place quite a bit of ... for lack of a better term ... literary freedom. Not that I am a Demon Deacon fan or believer, but, at least in this particular draw, they are a #3 seed, while both Duke and UNC are #1 seeds.

Providence's RPI is at 82, so they don't make the cut, but I think they may surprise a few teams.
