Maryland is getting killed! They are down 14 with 19 minutes left. Just another example of the great ACC...
Go Hoyas!

Everything about this is good for us. Let's hope they finish it.
The Illini are also whooping up on MSU at MSU.

And here I thought he was Nik-Caner Medley from Maryland, and no one could beat him.

Beat Duke at Duke, beat Ga. Tech handily, and then get blown out by Clemson. Of course, great to see a team we blew out go and blow out MD. Always nice to see MD lose.

Best line of the AP article on the game: All Maryland coach Gary Williams could do was stomp, scream and watch as Clemson finished with its most points in an ACC game this season.
Of course, they left out sweat.

Get ready for a quote from Gary in tomorrow's paper about having to play two games in 48 hours. As if no one else does it.

Get ready for a quote from Gary in tomorrow's paper about having to play two games in 48 hours. As if no one else does it. I found this one on a Clemson site: "Yeah, we had a quick turnaround, but there's no excuse," Williams said. "It might have hurt our preparation a little, but it shouldn't have affected our effort. Clemson just played harder than we did."

I saw that our RPI dropped a couple spots, but it was hard to see just how that happened, as our three previous opponents who had games yesterday all won -- (Clemson, BC, and Illinois), but I guess that's just the mystery of the RPI.

Boy I love it when Twerps lose. Of course it won't convince the DC papers to stop pushing them on the public.

The number "38" is not the actual RPI. It's a ranking. So you have to look at what every team did last night to gauge it. Also, it includes your opponents records, and your opponents' opponents. Maybe Norfolk St lost to some in conference team that was 0-24.

I'm familiar with the general workings of the RPI, and I just realized that while some OOWP action was happening, one of the reasons that our Opponents' Win Pct. did not move up was that two of those winners (BC and Illinois) are undefeated, so while their SOS can go up, their win pct. can't go any higher.
Weird.

Get ready for a quote from Gary in tomorrow's paper about having to play two games in 48 hours. As if no one else does it. Gary was a little more vocal aobut it before the game. From yesterday's AP: "Winning on the road in the Atlantic Coast conference is a difficult task. Being forced to do it with just one day of rest is downright cruel. That's how Maryland coach Gary Williams sees it, anyway. No sooner has the Terrapins disposed of Georgia Tech on Sunday when Williams began complaining about Tuesday's game against Clemson. 'We're the only team in the league to play two games in three days with a home game first,' williams declared." My guess is that his post-game comments would have been harsher if they had lost a closer game. After being roundly housed, you can't really say you would have won if you had one more day of rest. He's also complained about having to play UNC and Wake on the road back-to-back. I think we should just let Gary play all of his games at home. It's not fair to have to play in another team's gym. He deserves more respect than that.
