The Buffalo Beast has again put out their 50 Most Loathsome People of the year list. Fair warning, it definitely has a leftward tilt, but there's plenty for conservatives to love (Barack Obama is #50). Enjoy!

If only the federal judiciary would adopt sentencing guidelines like those, we'd see a REAL drop in crime by dint of the deterrent effect!

That was pretty good. The "leftward tilt" was really just in the number rankings. Other than that, both sides get smacked pretty hard. (And believe me, I can name any number of conservatives who would also name Joe Scarborough, Peggy Noonan, George Bush and John McCain to a list such as this).
My only quibble is this:
The absolute, single-most annoying person in the world is the Freecreditreport.com guy. Hands down. No one else even comes close. He should occupy the first five spots and everyone else starts at 6.

Yeah, the ShamWOW guy is fairly annoying, but I'm actually pretty sure that the ShamWOW guy is, in fact, Mark McGrath. And Mark McGrath was a genius on celebrity musical Jeopardy, while Sugar Ray had one or two songs that -- while complete bubblegum -- aren't entirely useless.

Did you read a different list than I did? With the possible exception of Olbermann, the only liberals disparaged on this list are the ones it's very safe to mock (Reverend Wright, Spitzer, O.J., et al.). It calls the Associated Press a font of right-wing opinion for crying out loud

I guess Obama, Caroline Kennedy, Mark Penn, and the Clintons don't count though. A funny list all around, definitely liberal in slant, but still get in some pretty vicious digs at libs.

I understand where you are coming from rosslyn. I do think the most virulent stuff here is reserved for conservatives (and, deservedly, Keith Olbermann), but I take it as a good sign when this many liberals can be included in a list like this. Because -- our personal political proclivities aside -- they really are loathsome and annoying public personae on both sides and they do deserve to be called out on it.
It's kind of a Jon Stewart thing. It will take some time, but eventually, people will realize "it's OK to make fun of them." This is a good start. Those of us who read Townhall and WSO and RedState etc. know that there's a lot more where that came from, but I'll take what I can get.
And as I mentioned before, there are quite a few conservatives on this list who I don't mind being called out as loathsome.

While i dont share the opinion, im surprised that none of you have asked why Hifi was left off the list

Because hifi is actually a socio-physchology PhD candidate doing research on human interactions in the internet message board community, and we are all his subjects. At least, that's how my brain has worked it out to "balance both sides of the equation," so to speak .
