I live in upstate NY. I work in upstate NY. I listen to Orangeboy fans all year long. For the sake of all that is wholesome, and pure, and right in this country, we must make good triumph over evil. Cast out these demons and sinners, and let us shine the light of victory over all the earth. Can I get a HOYA SAXA?! HOYA SAXA!As previously said, you can't spell "SUCKS" without SU! Wednesday's gonna be fun. Yes, it will be a very tough game for us, but I don't think there will be any problem with our team "sleeping" through parts of the first half as with Providence. Everybody will be up for this one. I expect an all-out war. Crush the Orange!

God I EditedING HATE the Orange. Reading there boards makes me so Editeded off. They are so full of themselves DELETED. We need to beat them. We need to beat them badly. They need to be put in their place. They think they're so great right now because they beat Florida and kansas early in the season Both who were overrated. And because they've cruised through the the bottom 4 teams in the big east. I hope their team is as over confident as their fans are. Who am I kidding they definitely will be. We need to come out and to punch them in the face from the get go the way we did to Uconn. It's all about desire for this team. We put forth the effort like we did at Uconn we will beat them solidly. cuse has talent but they're undisciplined DELETED. DELETED.

First, if you didn't graduate from Syracuse, you're already a winner. Congratulations, everyone.
Second, the reason that Cuse plays more man defense this year is that the team's personnel do not lend themselves to playing zone. They are not the active zone team that you've seen in past years. I think that they will play the zone aggressively some possessions because its a big game, but I don't expect them to be consistently using the zone to turn the ball over Flynn is good, but he's most dangerous in transition - we need to limit turnovers to stop this. Syracuse is not a good free throw shooting team - this can matter in a close game. Finally, unlike Providence, I expect that we will be completely focused the entire game.
Third, expect the Cuse players to do things like hanging on the rim, jumping on midcourt, and jawing at fans. Flynn gets away with this in most games and doesn't get benched by Boehiem. Other players on Cuse do it to a lesser extent. Most Cuse fans don't care, because he mirrors the fan base.

As an aside - my brother is a sportswriter for a paper in a small central New York city. He was telling me over the holidays that he had to interview the Rautins kid when he was in high school - and that in more than 20 years in the business, he had never met a dumber kid. He has no idea how he got into Syracuse - well, he does have an idea, but can't imagine how he ever got a qualifying test score.

Getting tickets for someone and I want to know where the Hoya bench is located, i.e. in front of what section at Verizon? ed --- the Hoyas' bench is right in front of Section 101, and flanked by sections 100 (mid court) and 102 (corner). the band is in section 118, opposite side.

#8 V #12 per ESPN. Let's assault these dirtbags.
on edit: how did we drop over 150 pts in the voting? A loss to the leading winning streak in the country (who someone remains below us anyway) and a home win against an experienced team, loose almost 1/4 of your support....oh yeah, polls make sense

we reallllly need jessie to break out of his shooting slump.....at least austin makes up scoring by slashing to the basket....Jessie needs to give us another viable scoring threat to take the pressure off of the other guys.

I am much more concerned about Jesse's D on Flynn, Rautiins and Deviant-dork.

Syracuse is not a good free throw shooting team - this can matter in a close game. Finally, unlike Providence, I expect that we will be completely focused the entire game. Couple decent points in there but you are wrong about the zone. SU has played more man to man this year because for the first time in a long time we have had the players who can play it. But if you don't think the zone is active, you didn't see the zone in the second half of the Rutgers game. If the SU team that played the second half of Rutgers shows up, I think you all better get Wallace to find some extra eligibility because it will be a bad night for you. And true, SU doesn't shoot free throws well, well Arinze doesn't. But Harris had a great night shooting the other night and Devo is a good shooter from the free throw line. Read our board and you will see that we do indeed care. JB was right when he ripped Harris from the game after hanging on the rim and say it was bull - crap (he didn't say crap) three times.

You mean something from your board like this: mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=185&f=2825&t=3754131Seems like a guy calling out the unsportsmanlike behavior, and the overwhelming majority of the replies telling him to quit whining. My favorite response from a poster asking how he defends technical fouls committed by SU players, "uh, 16-1, thats how i defend it. not that it needs any defending in the first place." Does that mean he wouldn't condone it if it they were losing, but it's ok if they're winning...

I'm hoping that cuse is stupid enough to start out the game in man to man. If they do we will open up a big early lead and never look back.

I HATE SYRACUSE. I hate them. I don't hate a lot of things, but I definitely hate Syracuse. And what's more. I love that I hate them so much.
Crush the orange. Go Hoyas!
