We've learned all the lessons we need to win. Whether we chose to ignore or forget them in a state of panicked hysteria remains to be seen.
As long as we can remain relatively efficient on offense--not going into a 5 minute long scoring drought--by containing streaks of scoreless possessions to less than three, we should remain extremely competitive.

IIRC, The home Cuse game last season broke Jon out of his shooting slump, a similar thing for Jessie and Austin would be nice

Did not want to start a new thread for this, but just an FYI for all the students (frosh) especially who might not know better: PLEASE DO NOT RUSH THE COURT IF WE WIN ON WEDNESDAY. We will be embarrassed and rightfully so, like those fools down at Wake.

There is not much more in this world I despise besides the Syracuse basketball team. They are the epitome of all evil.
That said, they must be beat. And the Hoyas must do everything they can to make this happen. (Most importantly, do not leave a 3-pt shooter open...ever). Our team has the talent; they just need to stay focused and the orange will be crushed.

This will be one of the hardest games for the Hoyas this year. They have 4 legit scoring threats, strong D (especially 3FG D, where they rate 3rd on kenpom), and if Rautins is hot from deep, they can really open up the inside.
That said, GU must win this game, and GU can win this game.

It's one thing to rush when you're unranked and just beat the undefeated and #1 team in the country. It's another thing to rush when you're ranked 4th in the country and beat the #3 team a week after they just lost to what is projected to be an ACC bottom-feeder this year. I'd say "act like you've been there before," but I guess in Wake's case, they haven't (at least not for a while). We've been there before. We should act like it.

the person im more worried about isnt Onauku inside, Rick Jackson the other big guy who starts has really improved alot and is a good Off rebounder, and he has improved his FT shooting alot as well. He is the real reason why they are 16-1. Onuaku getting fouls isnt as big of a deal as it was last year or Arinze not being on the floor and actually resting. The guy has made himself into a decent player. Im worried about him getting weakside rebs cause we dont block out. If Rautins is itting he is hitting nothing you can really do. But if we stop jackson and Harris getting weakside off rebounds we should win. Cuse regardless of how well they shoot they let everyone back into the game cause they lose focus easily.

Kind of like the Uconn game.

Well one thing that should be mentioned is this season, defensively Syracuse has played a lot more man to man than in the past. So much, in fact, that some Syracuse fans even believe it is their strongest defense. In the begginning of the season atleast they were playing more man than zone. Now while they are obviously going to be in a zone against us, as we haven't been able to beat it in two years,I don't think we have to worry about it being too much stronger than it was last year. If Sapp and Freeman are still unable to hit shots from the outside on Wednsday, I am afraid we are going to be in for a long day. Our defense also really needs to improve for Wednsday(from what its been the last three games), otherwise we are in trouble. And while doing all this we can't forget about rebounding.

Monroe is the key to this game. He needs touches inside the zone and the opportunity to make plays to burn the zone. It can't just be a matter of shooting over it. Henry Sims could be instrumental for this purpose, because he's tall enough to throw a good entry pass to Monroe. I want Monroe using 30% of the possessions for the team on Wednesday. He's the key to beating Cuse.

Wow, KenPom is out of his mind. I will be beyond flabbergasted if we win this game by double digits.

Onuaku is the key for us. Keep him off the boards and we'll be fine.

I live in upstate NY. I work in upstate NY. I listen to Orangeboy fans all year long. For the sake of all that is wholesome, and pure, and right in this country, we must make good triumph over evil. Cast out these demons and sinners, and let us shine the light of victory over all the earth. Can I get a HOYA SAXA?!
