Just saw the highlights on CSN. Maryland was up 14 with 12 min to go. Beavis shot 5 for 22. Twerps 1 for 14 behind the arc.
BUT, the BEST part was the color guy after the game, with quotes like: "this loss wasn't as bad for Maryland as most people would think," "Morgan St. is a very good basketball club" and "this was not a big shock to those in the basketball world... this was not a big deal."
HILARIOUS.

Well, so much for the MEAC Championship banner hanging from the rafters of Comcast.
Hey Gary, maybe you should schedule St. Leo's. Zing!

Attendance at the BIG TIME ACC BASKETBALL program in Chestnut Hill, MA tonight: 3,174. Nice to see such a rabid fan base come out to support their boys.
Gotta love this bit from the AP story:

That's the 2nd big conference team that Morgan has beaten this season.
They beat Depaul a few weeks ago.

You know that color guy was Ronnie Thompson, right? You mean RON Thompson ;D Maryland had so many chances at the end too. It was tied with about 2 mins to go and Morgan State scored on two consecutive possessions but bailed Maryland out with reach-ins and 2FTs on the other end. Morgan State then converted a three, but on the next possession after a miss, MD got a board and a MSU player just grabbed MD's guy (I think Milbourne) in front of the basket as he laid it in...BUT he missed the FT AND Vazquez was called for goaltending on the putback. Not content to give Maryland just one gift--it's still the holidays I guess--MSU stepped on the line inbounding the ball. Maryland Yankee Swapped that turnover for a missed shot...and MSU re-gifted a miss on the front end of a 1 and 1. MSU ALMOST added some competency, coming up with a near steal but for stepping on the line saving the ball. Maryland missed again from the baseline, fouled, and even with MSU missing ANOTHER front end of a 1 and 1 Beavis could only chuck the ball over the backboard from halfcourt at the buzzer. So basically MSU gave MD about 5.5 chances to get back into it in the final 2 minutes but survived. I guess I'll learn after the Clemson game last year and this game...don't EVER turn off a Maryland game cause it's "already over" with 10 minutes left.

What in the world happened to Gonzaga and Tennessee? A month ago they looked like they were two of the top 10 teams in the country. This game just looks like a middle of the pack Big East game. Just weird.

Just weird. Could be in part due to the inability of Bruce Pearl to coach any semblance of a half court offense.

These threes are WIDE open and they just missed everything. Still the best in the woeful SEC though.

Harvard's best previous wins were against Holy Cross and Santa Clara. They are massacring the Jesuits. I am just happy Georgetown does not have to face the vaunted Crimson lines this year.
