The Friars continue to plummet as they drop to 9-11 overall and 0-7 in the Big East, while Pitt improves to 15-3 (5-2).

I hope Pitt continues to play well. If they do so, that win against them could be crucial in March.

We need to keep winning games and hope that the Irish start self-destructing so that at the very worst we get that 6th spot from the Big East. Notre Dame's next three games are at Syracuse, vs. BC, and at Pitt, which is pretty killer and I hope they lose all three.

i have said all of this before...Pitt is a very good team that will rise to the top...Nova is asserting itself as one of the best teams in the conference...UConn has all the talent and will also rebound and be a lock for the tournament...
The Big East will not get 7 teams, so we need ND to swoon and keep our RPI above them...that at ND game is looking more and more huge...
Needless to say, this week is very, very big...

i'm shocked providence has played so poorly. i pegged them to be right at .500 in conference. where is provhoya to give us the inside scoop?

Word is they've quit on the season. Not unlike us last year. I'm actually sort of glad we play them at home at the end of the year.
Last night they looked like a demoralized team.

I actually agree on the ND front. I see them as our primary competition for an at-large birth. They are very similar to us and a loss at ND could hurt. They have a tough schedule down the stretch, but that will help the RPI in general.
They have a brutal stretch coming up against Syr, BC, Pitt and the G-Town. Winning at ND would be huge.

they might be a totally different team at the end of the season compared to last night. look at pitt. they stunk in early january. what providence did last night is irrelevant.
