Were we favored? if we were it must've just been only by home court advantage. I didn't think we were huge dogs but we were 7 point dogs @ Uconn. I'd have thought that our game against pitt was even money at best for us. But i think my point of it still not being a bad loss is valid. one is expected to defend their home court in the big east, regardless of how many students are in attendance. at any rate, it's not a terrible loss as i said, and it's not a loss in march, so it's not a big deal....

Just two games today: Cincinnati 50 @ Marquette 84 Cabbie-assault notwithstanding, I still think Cincinnati should've kept on Andy KennedyKentucky 71 @ Louisville 74 Bonus Game of Interest Score from last night: Longwood 80, GW 78Expect Karl Hobbs to be fired at season's end. Expect him to then be hired as Auburn's new head coach. And, with much thanks to Russky and FL for recommending it, I give you firehobbs.blogspot.com/ Almost as good as Hoya Suxa. My personal favorite: "As the we reach the begining of conference play, one can only wonder WHEN WILL IT END? " Well, aside from an anomaly of a 2006 26-2 season where your best win was against a Terp team that went 19-13 and lost in the NIT first round to Manhattan at home, your mediocrity is in its 103rd year. I wouldn't hold out hope.

Well, at least we lost at home to a RANKED team; UNC didn't.

the number one ranking would have been pretty damn cool, though. still, splitting between the previous number two and the new number 1 isn't a bad week by any stretch. After thinking about it the number 1 ranking in January is kind of bittersweet. Yes, its great to be considered the best team in the country, but really once you get to that point your season has kind of already peaked. Every game you lose is an upset and a dissapointment, and outside of winning the National Championship, the seasons really not going to get much better. Not that I feel bad for Pittsburgh fans, but the only place to go now is down.

Duke could potentially be #2.

Isn't the real lesson here that pre-season, pre-conference polls are p/r contests inevitably won by the ACC uber-programs?
Intra-conference parity is another issue.
Take the USF, SH, AND STJ games for granted at great peril.
The old NFL, if the '60s are old [oh wow! I just answered my own question!], " On any given day ...," is alive and well in the weekly drama of college b'ball at all levels

I don't think there's much shame in losing to the #1 team in the nation.

First, this is the first time in history I actually wished for a meteor to hit where BC was playing but to strike the opposition and IT DID. Hate the BC traitors and said I would never ever root for them however, this was sweet. Secondly, I would not be surprised if the voters did keep North Carolina at number one. Wouldn't be surprised. We will see. go Hoyas. Beat ND AND END THERE FREAKING STREAK. PS i cannot wait till early , very early on Tuesday as I will be free at last, free at last . Go Hoyas.

Agree with lic. I was pulling hard for the Traitors today. There's a time and place for everything, and today was the time to root for BC.
