Just two games today:
Cincinnati 50 @ Marquette 84 Cabbie-assault notwithstanding, I still think Cincinnati should've kept on Andy Kennedy
Kentucky 71 @ Louisville 74
Bonus Game of Interest Score from last night:
Longwood 80, GW 78
Expect Karl Hobbs to be fired at season's end. Expect him to then be hired as Auburn's new head coach.

Kentucky is so bad. Louisville should not lose this one.
Looks like Sosa is starting.

BC 82-77 1:14 left. It's who wants it less at this point--UNC is taking all kinds of crazy threes trying to shoot their way back in(sound familiar?) but are getting offensive boards and enough opportunities to make up for it b/c BC is playing w/ a tiny lineup. BC meanwhile is turning it over for the first time all game...like just now, when they fumbled away trying to get past halfcourt. UNC ball...another two badly missed three but two boards and Hanbrough to the line with 46.7 to go...1 of 2, now 82-78. UNC shooting FT horribly today.
(EDIT 2: BC 80 UNC 71 3:29 remaining. BC had the margin up to 15 but UNC went on a quick 8-0 run and had the crowd back in it...next possession a defensive breakdown left a BC guy under the basket for a lay-in, and UNC bricked their next shot. So BC is still hanging in there, but it's a fragile lead...)
(EDIT: But I was wrong...BC 74 UNC 60 with 9:22 remaining.
BC on a 12-2 run...doing an excellent job denying entry passes and lobs to Hansbrough, mustve created 3 turnovers in the past few minutes alone on this. What's more, BC is getting away with some aggressive play reaching in for steals and entry passes and UNC isn't getting the typical Golden Boy ACC treatment.)
Boston College is up 4 on UNC in Chapel Hill with just under 16 to go, although having just turned it on and watched two minutes I expect this to last for less than two minutes more. Crazy frentic pace that featured a ball being kicked up into the underside of the basket on a fast break.

And down goes UNC. Haha, the best team of the century is now tied for last in the ACC.
Bittersweet in a way, had we beaten Pitt we could have claim to that number one ranking.

at the same time our loss looks slightly better with pitt being #1.

It was still a good loss when they were #3. We were not supposed to win any of these three games based on betting lines and rankings. It was not a bad loss. It was bad that we got completely out hustled but the loss itself was not bad.

It was bad that we got completely out hustled but the loss itself was not bad. Actually not true. We were favored versus Pitt. Remember, while we played #2 and #3, we were already #8 going in. It's kind of amazing we're still thinking the Hoyas are huge 'dogs. The Hoyas are a top ten team and maybe the one with the most upside based on the fact they're replacing more parts than the others. That they went 1-1 this week just reinforced that idea.

Were we favored? if we were it must've just been only by home court advantage. I didn't think we were huge dogs but we were 7 point dogs @ Uconn. I'd have thought that our game against pitt was even money at best for us. But i think my point of it still not being a bad loss is valid.

And absolutely it's not a bad loss at all. Actually if the Hoyas can pull of a win at ND, 2-1 in this stretch is a fantastic start especially since we don't see any of these teams again and they all should figure into the bye equation.

the number one ranking would have been pretty damn cool, though. still, splitting between the previous number two and the new number 1 isn't a bad week by any stretch.
