I like all this JT3 activity. I Kentucky on Wed to watch Vee Sanford, hosting Latvious at GU this weekend. All sounds good!

I'm interested in hearing more about Vee. His hi-top fade is pretty sweet, as is the name Vee (for Vendetta!). His potential is through the roof, is what I'm trying to say.
The Steph Curry reference is a bit much. On paper, Josh Thorton sounded like Steph Curry.
Likewise to SirSaxa, JT3 seems to be hustling to fill out the 2009 class. I think losing Broadus was a real blow recruiting-wise, but is really good in his own right. I hope we get both guys.

I meant his game not that he was steph. The floater, build and shooting ability is why I made the reference.

id- i would agree with the floater/shot comparison. but his handle is not close to steph curry. i hear it is more at a jason clark level. his length makes him as interesting defensive player but he needs to get stronger.

See previous post re:handle. Anyway, he doesn't have to have Markel handles, but JC is not acceptable.

yeah. from the highlights it looks better than clark's. but it also does not seem he is his team's true point. combo guard- like alot of kids at HS level. different people i talk to think differently about whether his handle is good enough for big east/acc versus conf usa/a-10. don't know if he could make immediate impact- good 4 year guy- but we would just need him to give us a few minutes the first year. also i am intrigued by his length and quickness. on defensive end that could be elevate his value and earn him more minutes.
sounds like we are looking at a few options for a guard spot for 09'. would you prefer better defender over a better handler? i guess one would have to weigh how much of a difference one would be willing to accept. other factors as well. sanford does seem to have upside.

OK... JT3 was here tonight and spent time with Vee and basically told him he wants him at GU but wants him to make a visit before the offer is there... from what I got from my friend who is an assistant at Vee's high school is that we are the front runners... also Vee's dad was very impressed with JT3 (not to mention I got a personalized autographed T shirt) ... I am going to see him tomorrow night and will give everyone my take on him Friday.

Sounds like there is a pretty good chance Vee will end up a Hoya.
Article on Rivals today talks about how he's one of those kids who really bursts onto the scene as a senior. Apparently he didn't really play AAU ball in the past, instead working out with his dad (who played college ball at USF) in the summers. UVA and others have been making a strong push of late.

he never got into the AAU circuit and that is a big reason he has not been highly touted... Virginia has offered but like I have said and been told his father is highly impressed with us

forgot to mention it won't be a FLHOYA kenner recap!!!! God, don't tell me you read those! The games DON'T COUNT! ;D Thanks for the report...must be odd that a GTown recruiting story showed up in your backyard. BTW, anybody besides me kinda chuckling at the dichotomy between this thread and what you're reading on the main board? Over there we got all these folks whining and moaning about the "system" and some poor coaching job last night--it's like Hoyatalk collectively popped their "it's okay to bash JT3" cherry last night...and everyone bending over backwards to come up with the latest pet theory over what went wrong (and people are dredging up arguments straight from any Terrapins message board)... ...and right under their noses is a story of how, 24 hours after probably the most disappointing loss of his GTown career in NYC, JT3's in a HS gym in Kentucky visiting a guy who it seems quite likely will be a Hoya next season. Weird how life goes on and Coach keeps working while all of us argue ourselves in circles.

I made a Steph Curry comparison, but he also could be another Chris Lofton. If he has heart, shot and game like Lofton then the Hoyas get a steal! Lofton was Kentucky Mr. Basketball his senior season in HS and was passed over by UK. He went on to UT and became one of their greatest players ever!

Thanks for the updates Lex! My fingers are crossed he commits to us soon.
How could any Dad not be impressed with JTIII? I'd send my kid to play for him. Theoretically if I had a kid. And that kid had any basketball skills.
