SNY (NY area sports channel) has really embraced being the "official home of BE basketball" and has already picked up a couple of Georgetown's non-nationally-broadcast games -- they've had on tape-delay the Drexel and American games, and will have the Mt. St. Mary's game live on Saturday. Needless to say, it's great to have a chance for us out-of-towners to have the opportunity to watch firsthand the progress / development of the team. web.sny.tv/schedule/index.jsp?ymd=20081220

anyone know how those who don't get SNY or MASN can watch this one? I was thinking channelsurfing.net but that site is always slow and the feed tends to get cut off. Any other ideas?

I will be in Manhattan tomorrow. Any suggestioins of bars that definitely will carry the game? I'm staying around 48th and 8th and don't know my way too well.

Lancaster - Like hoyaengine said, every bar in NYC will carry it -- and the Pourhouse will definitely be packed.
One place around 48th where you can avoid the chaos of Times Sq. is House of Brews on 51st and 8th. Upstairs is a good setup - clean place, nice TV's, good food, lots of beer variety, and usually not crowded.

Not sure if definitely crowded is true for a MSM matchup, but there will be a fair amount of people in attendance.

Duke, who plays against Xavier at 2PM. Now I know this game is at the Meadowlands (and that Duke's second home is NYC, where they are something like 14-2 since 2000) but I'm assuming that not every Wall Street Dookie will be heading to Jersey for the game. Wouldn't it be just too bad for them if a load of Hoyas took advantage of their 1PM game time to secure the best seats in the house and talk with the staff to make sure the Georgetown game is on the best situated TVs?

I don't even think the Wall Street Dukies KNEW the game was in the Meadowlands. At least the ones I spoke with. Okay, so I have a gripe with SNY. At the beginning of the game, SNY did their little "Big East basketball" into AND IT WAS ALL SYRACUSE. The clip ended with Syracuse kiddies rushing the court, which means it was against us. Can they please at least acknowledge that this area has 3 BE teams?

I missed this so I don't know if the game was on here. Does anyone know if SNY is like MSG where they show the game in NYC, but out of NYC I would have had a fishing show or something similar? That always happened when MSG was supposed to pick up a GU game.....just wondering for future reference--thanks!

I don't think so. I get the full SNY lineup both in NYC and in Syracuse.

I was able to watch on SNY here in Connecticut. I was furious when I saw that Syracuse commercial. It didn't even make any sense. A guy is getting his car from a garage, and hears all kinds of engine trouble type noises, and suddenly it becomes "you're from New York, at least you deserve good sports" or something. Because there are no teams in New York other than Syracuse

At many of the phone booths around the city there are currently SNY ads that feature either Syracuse football or basketball. I think SNY has adopted Syracuse as its #1 college sports team, which makes sense because I'm not sure what other school it could have gone with in NY.

Don't get me wrong, if SNY became the network of St. Johns, I can't imagine anyone watching, so I can understand their decision-making. Just one more reason the Johnnies need a resurgence.
