That is just crazy......I like it. Think 'Nova and the 'Cuse are too high, and still wondering about ND.....

if i were to vote i would but gtown at around 13, but based on talent not on wins. I dont think that beating memphis deserves a move up 6 spots (four at the most). just another example of how bad these polls can be sometimes (but this time it went in our favor!)

A. Gary needs to have his voting rights taken away.
B. The Big East is just sick. I can't remember if it was DJ Gallo or Patrick Hruby (Gallo, I think), but when I see these polls I am reminded of his season preview in which he ranked the prestige of the various post-season tournaments as such:
3. The NIT Tournament 2. The NCAA Tournament 1. The Big East Tournament
Whoever wins this conference this year -- not to mention wins in New York -- will have accomplished something really impressive.

This is quite a jump, but I'll take it whether I think it was completely warranted or not. I know a loss or two can unfairly drop us in the polls, so I'll take it the other way too.

7 BE teams in the top 15 is probably as good as it is going to get. Pretty soon we are all going to start beating up on eachother once conference play begins.
I too am surprised by the 6 spot jump...but then again, look at UCLA...they moved up to #12 and only beat CSNorthridge. At least we took out Memphis. As for the Cuse, I've been saying all year...they are legit...especially if they get to play with their thug E.D. while they appeal his suspension. Now that we beat Memphis, I'll be rooting for the Tigers when they play the Cuse this weekend.

Villanova should definitely be where they are... especially after their uber-impressive win over Houston Baptist.

And with the 7 in the top 15, I find it funny that I had a disagreement with someone on Memphis' board about how weak their conference is in comparison. He assured me, however, that if Memphis was a member of the Big East, they'd dominate our conference as well.

and somehow Maryland still gets a vote.. More disturbing - the Twerps got 10 points in the writers' poll - I presume that Bumstein voted them No. 16?

Purdue at #13 in the AP is the confusing one to me. Sure, their 2 losses are to good teams, but they don't have any solid wins yet, right? Unless you call BC at home a solid win.

The win over BC was in NYC but you're right -- Purdue doesn't deserve their ranking so far. Same thing with UCLA and Michigan St. Why Kansas is still getting votes is beyond me. This isn't to say that the Big East is immune to such things -- Pitt at #3 hasn't been tested, Louisville has one bad loss and no good wins, Villanova's best win is over URI at home, Notre Dame has no right to be ranked higher than Ohio St, and Marquette's case for the top 25 is marginal, at best.
