While, it's true, neither team played well last night. It was painful to watch. However, last night was a fine example of the law of the Hoyas...
Hoya Basketball players play not to their own ability level but to the ability of their opponent. BC may have blown us out if everyone was at the top of their game but BC came out flat, so did Georgetown. This team right now seems to lack killer instinct overall.
While we've been winning close games, we do not seem to have that go for the jugular instinct yet. This was absolutely killed under Esherick - hopefully JT3 can bring it back and we will see a constant level of ability displayed by the Hoyas.

That MIGHT apply, if this were a team of ultratalented players going up against a less talented team. But it isn't. We're a talented enough team to play in the BE, but certainly not more talented than BC, and last night night we didn't play anywhere well enough to win, let alone play above anyone's level.
This team has won a lot of games it wasn't supposed to; it had a bad game versus a good team. Ugly, but it happens.
