Q: What fast food restaurant do pirates prefer? A: Arrrrrrrrrrrrby's! i think that was in the 7 o'clock show... Q: Where does the Pirate of Georgetown live? A: On Arrrrrrrrrr! Street. Thank you, thank you. The 9 o'clock show is completely different than the 7 o'clock show. Try the veal.

So a pirate walks into a bar. The bartender notices there's a steering wheel coming out of his crotch. Bartender says, "Doesn't it bother you that there's a steering wheel coming out of your crotch?" Pirate responds, "Arrrgh. It's drivin' me nuts." Sorry, couldn't resist.

You know that popular phrase from 'Dodgeball'? "I just threw up in my mouth a little"? Yeah, well, forget the "in my mouth" and "a little" parts. Best recent Sea Captian line: "Yarrrrr! I just want a friend who's not a work friend!

I plan to watch it on ESPN Classic tonight and will be wearing the Championship Shirt I purchased in Seattle. Time to break it out again though it may be a little tight.

I am going with the following gear: Blue blazer Louie Carnesecca red sweater underneath White towel over the shoulder (I highly recommend everyone bringing one of these). Not sure if I have the time to get the fake aviator frames, or grow ten inches, but this will have to do. Thanks again to SF for pointing out that my inane post last week actually contained the seeds of a retro tribute to JT II. We really should have more people dressed like this. Instead, we'll get a bunch of people in 70s clothing. Oh, joy.

I have never heard a game called like this before. NOT SHABBY AT ALL! Can't wait to see the other "CLASSIC" games. ;D

Really was refreshingly nice. I thought Freddy did a good job in the "Al Leiter" role.

Sorry, but were we listening to the same game? Those announcers were just plain bad - at least that was the consensus on HOYACHAT. Personally, I had to mute their irrelevant rants.

Glad someone else agreed that they were bad. I can't believe I actually liked Warner Wolf as a kid. I must have said, "shut up already" 15 times during the broadcast. Fred Brown was the one saving grace.
Honestly, how many times did Warner say to Brown, "so Fred, when you were a player, what did you do/say/think when XX happened?"
Man, that was jut bad.

I thought Warner was actually pretty good. He made some points that made it sound like he's actually watched a few games this year. The play by play guy was tolerable. And Fred Brown did his part.
I loved it, but it was a horrible game, which are always tough to call.

Oh, I don't care that Warner Wolf was completely gone -- guy had wrong stats, and no one ever said the right name. I was just happy I didn't hear anyone scream, didn't hear anyone fawn over a player, even our players. I never heard someone called courageous. No one was a "class act" despite not knowing the people. In short, they didn't make the game to be anything more than a basketball game. They didn't add anything, but they don't take away like Dicky V., Mike Patrick, or Dana Barros did. I enjoyed Fred's insights into the 1980s Thompson program, though I doubt anyone else cared.

Fred was fine, but Wolfe didn't have a clue what was going on! His stats were always wrong and he didn't know when fouls were called or anything. It was bad. Not Dana Barros Nervous Tic Mildly Retarded bad, but bad, nonetheless. I kind of liked it, bad as it was, but that's just me being a masochist.

Right now Dick Vitale and Mike Patrick are arguing over everything... whether the players were better in the old days, virtually every call. It's unbearable. I'd much rather Dick tell me that Wake is 1-10 from FTs and Mike misidentify Sean Dockery as Chris Paul. I know the difference anyway.

I believe Warner Wolf knew all the answers to the questions he was asking, but felt the need to create small talk so there wasn't dead air. I agree that it sounded dull and redundant, but do you really think Warner Wolf truly didn't know if you could teach boxing out? Did he really not know there weren't shot clocks at one point?

Preferable to a sharp stick in the eye.
Six conference wins was my pre-season bogey so it is gravy from here.
Bowman had some nice drives and Roy had some basketball moves, among others.
Why no Tyler?
Ray regressed.
Jeff's legs still not under him fully.
Some good defense, but truly awful offense by the Hall.
Warner Wolf has not lost much from his days at WTOP which speaks to how little he had in the hey-day of the George Allen era and the Sonny-Billy controversy.
Jim Simpson is still a pro and Fred was pleasant. Had the Hall pulled this out, however, I would have never watched Classic again.
Rutgers is still scuffling so now is the time to go right after them and take the RAC crowd out of it.
