Fellow Hoya Fans,
I recently began volunteering with Dikembe Mutombo to further his foundation's capacity to deliver cutting-edge public health services in Africa. To that end, Dikembe will be at the Phone Booth this Saturday for the Memphis game and for a small reception directly after the game.
We have four remaining spots in our box for the game and two guest passes (the latter will get you into our box with your own game ticket). We are posting this only on HoyaTalk (for obvious reasons) and asking that all attendees help us strategize about additional individuals and institutions to support the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation's work.
Please PM me and e-mail dikembemutombofoundation@gmail.com your name, Georgetown affiliation (if applicable), and a statement of less than 100 words about why you would like to attend this event. We will respond to you by 2 pm ET Friday about whether we can accommodate you. Thanks very much, and HOYA SAXA! HoyaTMF

GREAT IDEA! Wish I wasn't in NY for the weekend.
Out of curiousity, is the foundation still doing the mosquito nets?
Great Hoya that Mr. Mutombo and an even better person.

I was at the game, and it was awesome to see Dikembe introduced at center court, and win such an ugly game with young players. The game--and Dikemebe--make me proud to be a Hoya. I met some of the alumni who responded to this post--great work all around, and a lot more to be done. The website is www.dmf.org.

I'm with you lic. Guys like Deke remind us that whatever one's worries, there are those with more pressing issues. Maybe we could get the mods to put a permanent pin at the top on a thread relating to Deke's and other GTown alums charities. Seems like the right thing to do. Happy holidays to all.
