Hi,
I'm a BC fan but used to be a Gtown fan back in the 80s and early 90s when I lived in DC. It was an ugly game tonight, but it's clear that JTIII is doing some great things there. Once he gets his players in the system and the young guys mature, there's no doubt that the Hoyas will be competing year in and year out for the Big East title.
I'm very sorry that these two Jesuit schools won't be playing each other any more. While it's sad to leave the Big East, it is certainly the best move for Boston College. I think everyone in the BC community would like things to be how they have been in the past, but BC against South Florida or Cincinnati makes the Big East very different. I hope the Big East Catholic schools prosper in the new format. Best of luck the rest of the season and hopefully someday BC and Georgetown will start to meet again regularly on the court.

First off, why'd you stop being a Georgetown fan?
Secondly, we'll see if it's the best move for BC
But thanks for a few kind words

You need to convert back from the dark side. BC is making a move for all the wrong reasons. I too will miss a rivalry between schools that are far more alike than BC is to its new bedfellows like Clemson and its cohorts. Even so, BC should not be rewarded with a continuation of this series.

I'm sorry. Keep in mind, if Boston College was staying in the Big East, South Florida would not be coming in. BC would benefit from annual games with Cincinnati, Marquette, DePaul, and Louisville if you ask me. That group, with Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Syracuse, Notre Dame, and if things stay this way Villanova and Georgetown, is comparable, if not better from top-to-bottom, than the ACC. Sure, you have the four Carolina schools dominating the league and doing well nationally year-in, year-out, but Clemson? Virginia Tech? Miami won't play this well every year. Virginia won't be this bad either, but still, they aren't an elite team. Neither is Florida State. To sum up, if BC thinks they can become a national power in football, then leaving the Big East is probably the best thing. But since they most likely can't, they should do what's best for them from a basketball sense, and that's staying in the new and improved Big East, or as I'm going to call it, the Really Big East.

You are being too kind here. With Cincy, Louisville, Pitt, UCnn, Syracuse at the top with Depaul, Marquette, ND, Villanova and GU as the next level, we are much stronger than the ACC. The ACC has and always will be a league of the "haves" and the "have-nots". How else do you explain the consistent blowouts seen by the top teams in the conferences over the years. You will see an occasional blowout (yesterday's RU-Nova game), but for the most part teams show up and play competitively. They don't roll over and die like UVA did last night and other ACC teams have done for Duke and UNC for years. Too often the bottom teams go in with no game plan. UVA actually tried to run with UNC yesterday. Did they actually think that was recipe for beating this year's Tar Heels? I've said the same thing when I've seen teams try to run with Duke in the past when Duke's team had the athletic/skill advantage at every position. It just doesn't make any sense and is the main reason that you see so many blowouts in that league.
