Duke looks really good. This team is deep and can shoot the ball very well. Singler is much improved as well.
It is going to be a tough task to play them at home this season.

Duke doesn't scare me. UMCP will beat them one more time this season than UMCP beat us.

Anyone else watch the end of the Illinois-Clemson game? I had a flashback to the early part of this decade when the Illini couldn't get a shot off, down 2, with 11 seconds to go

Singler vs. Summers will be an interesting matchup...Summers needs to box him out, he is really hustling and looks stronger than last yr.
On the other hand, that leaves Monroe vs. Zoubek.
It seemed we should have beaten them last yr having Hibbert in the middle - no game is a given. But I'll have more faith in Monroe (not as foul prone so far this yr) and our increased athleticism. Beat their press this time around, give a clinic on backdoor cuts, and we should be up to the challenge.

If Purdue could hit some wide open shots, this might be an interesting game

That was a pretty effective strategy against him throughout the year, and one of the reasons that smaller teams seemed to be so successful guarding him as opposed to teams with an established post player who took the assignment one on one.

The Purdue student sitting in the Purdue student section whose name is Duke and is dressed as as Duke fan really does not make me like Duke any more.

The Big Ten looks pretty fraudulent tonight. Fixed. Which makes this exactly like the last 9 years of the ACC/Big 10 "challenge".

Duke doesn't scare me. UMCP will beat them one more time this season than UMCP beat us. Somebody wrote or said the other day that MD always seems to play well against schools from the state of NC even when they stink against the rest of the conference and recent history bears that out.

So after the Big East, who do you guys think is the next best conference? SEC (Tenn, Florida, Kentucky, Bama) Big XII (Baylor, Texas, OU, Okie State, Kansas) ACC (Duke, UNC, Clemson, Miami). I think it has to be between the Big XII and ACC with a slight nod to the Big XII who I think has 3 schools that are Sweet 16 teams (Baylor, Texas, OU)

I'd def say Big 12 is the second best conference. then the acc, after that it gets pretty ugly.

duke an purdue are pretty much the same team...guard/SF oriented with no real big men. It's a battle of who is shooting better and playing better defense. Playing at Duke is always tough but i think we matchup pretty well with them. Hopefully we will be clicking on all cylinders when we head down there

Yeah that's going to be a fun game. I think playing Tenn is really going to help the way we deal with their pressure man to man. Hopefully we'll be a little surer with the ball than we were in that game or on our last trip to Durham. I don't see anyone on their roster who can hang with Greg, so that's a huge advantage. I think they're significantly better this year thanks to Henderson and Nolan Smith. They finally have some athleticism on that squad. I still like our chances, provided we stay out of foul trouble. But that's going to be my stance on basically every game we play this year.

I want to see how we contain Sigler and his rebounding.
