i dont know, but he'll let us know when he is ready. I think RDF knows too. no matter what its about discretion is most likely very important. Patience will be rewarded.

Based on the abysmal status of the Thunder, Jeff has somehow re-acquired his year of eligibility and will be suiting up for us by week's end?

I would answer but I haven't slept for a week thinking about what it might be so now I spend my days mostly hydrating, eating sugar pills and walking around in a haze whilst drooling and mumbling to myself. Sleep deprivation suckaroo.

Then again, being in NY, I'm fitting in nicely with all of the out of work bankers.

my guess is that it is maybe a transfer that could happen, or maybe we are in with a player that is off the radar that might be a factor. Favors? Cousins? who knows

My other guess is either an ulcer or diverticulitis for me in the near future if he doesn't break the silence. With regard to the team, I'm thinking more along the lines of Greg staying and maybe DS not convinced yet that he's leaving (not both... one or the other).

Not to sound like an ass but can we just let this go until it comes to pass, whatever it is? RDF hinted that there was something, after which balla said that it wasn't even really news... Whatever it is--and it seemed like he was trying to downplay it--he's not ready to talk about it yet. Either he'll talk about it when he's ready, or it will become clear by itself with time.
I don't know what the "news" is, but it seemed to me that he definitely wasn't up for talking about it right now, yet everybody has decided to make a huge deal about it anyway. I know everybody wants to assume the best and think that out of nowhere Derrick Favors or Renardo Sidney is going to decide they like Georgetown, but, yea, somehow I doubt it.
I struggle to see anything productive coming from this thread--most likely it will just get people's hopes way up for something that will never come.

It's funny how when one wants to sound like an ass they preface it by saying, "Not to sound like an ass..."
And, don't kill the hope. Hope is good. Speculation is fun. That's why this board exists even though it's strictly frowned upon. If you wanna Edited on something, go outside and find a bush. If you're not curious, don't post.

This thread is not even in the correct location. It should be in the recruiting thread...I assume.

No... we don't know where it goes yet. Might have nothing to do with recruiting.

In fact, for me, I still think it's about one of the current Hoyas staying longer than maybe most of us expect him to.

Just out of curiosity, why would anyone think Dajuan is an early-entry candidate? Is there a single factor about his game that screams NBA? How is he different than Brandon Bowman? Robert Churchwell with a jumper?
Don't misunderstand: I think Dajuan is a superb college player, but I don't think he has a skill that translates to the League. He doesn't particularly dominate games. He has no handle. His jumper is iffy at best, releases low relative to his height, and doesn't extend to pro 3-pt range. He has the tools to be a plus defender, but he hasn't really shown that ability yet. All his offense this year has come in transition (granted, it's a small sample size, but he couldn't create his own shot last year, either).
I think Dajuan will have to take a major step this year to become a pro prospect. He'd need to assert himself as the Man, and I don't really see that happening. Right now, I think he's the 4th or 5th option on offense.
Monroe and (maybe) Wright are the only NBA players on this team.

Is Reik still out there? I think we can give that dead horse another good flogging.

I don't disagree with you hoya other than the people you chose to compare DS to. Churchwell? DS's entire game was better as a freshman than Churchwell as a senior and I really liked Churchwell. Bowman? Build and overall athleticism as a result of his larger size hopefully translating to the NBA. But I think your points are spot on. Just seems like the drafts of late have focused a lot on upside as opposed to readiness. Look at where Roy went in the draft in relation to Robin Lopez. Ridiculous. You don't have to BE good. You have to LOOK good or look like you're GOING to be good. That's DS all the way. I think he will be good. And can be good in the league. Just not yet. But you look at the kid and you wonder how he won't be good. He has to be. Not there yet but you bet on talent.

I think we can give that dead horse another good flogging. ;D ;D ;D but really, i think we should drop this. that there is a secret, slipped out only as a way to stop this board from melting down about losing a great recruit. Balla is not sitting at home reading this rubbing his hands together thinking about how great it is that he's got us all on the edge of our seats. He's probably not even thinking about it. Hes living his life, which i assume is fairly exciting and involves lots of scouring Minnesota for uncounted ballots in Al Franken's favor. I've got secrets you might be interested in too, but im not sharing

Wright is an NBA player for sure, as well as Austin...I dont get the "maybe" Chris and no mention of all of Austin.

That's the point... you don't. This part is fun. And, it's all in jest. Just fun to think about coming positivity that may or may not be. And how crappy do you feel that Jessie the Body can win and you're Al Franken and you lose. Soap opera swing state....

I know we should just be patient until whatever RDF/Balla was referring to actually comes to fruition but I can certainly understand why there is a thread about this. I have been trying to figure out what this could actually be as well.
RBHoya, I am not sure what you read which lead you to believe that it wasn't really news but I became very curiuos(obsessed)when Balla said this:
" Barker’s article in the Washington times is/was 100% correct. Having said that, I will only say that Dashonte has been released from his Gtown commitment. And it was a mutual decision. Gtown is fine. In fact when I said that I expect Gtown to win it all next year, I will now only say that I REALLY REALLY expect to win it all next year. I won’t go into details, but I will thank rdf for not divulging the interesting info that I gave him a few days ago. Even though rdf had to catch a lot of flack from the Rivals idiots. Lets just say that Hoya hoops is going to be a lot of fun to watch over the next few years. Get yo popcorn."
When this information becomes tied to the belief of a very well respected poster that it makes him more confident in a Hoya national title next year I, personally, call that news.
And while I know people should be patient about things like this it is hard not to wonder when Balla said the previous quote. And it is fun as well as frustrating to speculate.
I won't get into what I think because it really doesn't matter. For now, let's just enjoy this season as we watch our young Hoyas grow and battle it out in this years BE.
