To me both they and Kansas are ranked too high so far. I see Tyreke hasn't improved his shot selection yet either.

"Calipari still says he hasn't watched the tape of the title game"
Well coach, maybe if you did you would see that bad free throw shooting is a good way to lose games

don't under estimate the Tigers. I believe that they will be just as talented as last season. With Rice, Douglass-Roberts and the big man gone, I see this team with better balance and deeper than last season. I predict that they will be a final four contender.

They aren't as good as last season. Nor is overrated UCLA.

Memphis is not as good as last season. Derrick Rose will probably be the rookie of the year in the NBA whereas Tyreke Evans will not be an NBA starter. Witherspoon is versatile and a skilled player who needs to get stronger. he will be memphis' more important recruit from this class. Even though memphis lost alot they are no slouch. They play hard and have athletes. Still i think we should take them at home and get some payback

Still would have loved to see us get a crack at UCLA last year and watch big Roy do his thing against Love.

Not as good as last season but still plenty good. They're going to be very tough for us.
While I don't exactly mourn a Memphis loss (or a Xavier win), I'd really rather have had Memphis win so they were undefeated coming into our game (and so that Evans could lay an egg against us instead of Calipari having leverage to rein him in) and so Xavier already had a loss (though maybe Cincy will surprise them) before they met up with Duke. Now Memphis has a loooong time to practice to get ready for us (Marist will be only a warm-up).

He publicly stated that this year's Bruin team is nowhere near as good as last year's team.

Evans isn't as good as Rose and there's no one to replace CDR or Dorsey. So how is this team as good or better?

Sad to see Seton Hall get whipped by Memphis. The Tigers look mediocre.

i just checked out Memphis' upcoming schedule and noticed that they only play one game (against Marist) prior to playing us on 13 December. Gtown, on the other hand, plays 5 games prior to the Memphis game (3 in the OS tourny + AU + Savannah State). Not sure if this is a good or bad thing. Probably good for us as we will likely gain valuable experience while Memphis slogs it out in the gym against each other. Could be good for Memphis, as they have a ton of time to address any issues and prepare for their match against us.

Is that the reason a lot of teams have played so many games by now? I know a lot of this has to do with early season tourney's, but I was surprised to see that Duke had already played 6 games, while we have only played 2.

Sure they do. Gotta make sure the team is studying hard! Don't want basketball to distract from their education, no sir.

If Memphis struggled scoring againt Xaviar...what's going to happen when they play against out interior D. I say we pack it in... and force them to shoot from long range.
I agree with MCI...Memphis, Kansas, UCLA (the entire Pac 10 for that matter) are all overrated. Teams like G'town, Marquette and Syracuse are underrated.
Tashoya... I too would have loved a crack at the Bruins. They have such a cupcake schedule and get such good seeding that they don't ever have to face a true top nitch team until they reach the FF every year. Once they do get there...its never even a game.

I dont' think Memphis and UCLA are awful--just think they are not nearly as good as last year's teams---which is pretty easy to understand considering who those teams lost. Memphis is athletic and has talent--which will be a great challenge to Hoyas--but I look forward to seeing how the Hoyas respond to that.
I will say watching Tyreke Evans play last night--how this guy is considered a "great prospect/player"--I'll never know. Of course I must reference the fact I am not fond of 6'5 guys who can't shoot the ball from outside of 3 feet on a consistent basis.
