This team has final four talent, but it would take absolutely perfect coaching and jelling to hit that level of potential. I see us as a borderline top 10 team that goes to the elite 8. We won't win the BE regular season title, but you better believe we're winning the BET. Over Pittsburgh, of course.

In the vacuum of the Hoyatalk board I think we are unbeatable. Great talent, great chemistry, ready to go. Then I read some of the resumes of the other teams. There is a lot of talent out there this year. But the undeniable fact is that JTIII is a very good coach, and I am liking our chances (in the BE and nationally in the NCAAs and OOC games).

As for me I'm very confident. We will surprise a lot of People and JTIII will win the Big East Coach of the Year. We will finish top 4 in the BE and we will advance at least to the Elite 8. Let's get positive people! I'm with you on the confidence part all the way, but obviously no one told you: the coaches already voted. It's Brey in a landslide. Again.

All good points,For some crazy reason ive felt that clark in the end might have the biggest impact of the incoming freshmen. What does everyone hear about monroe? Anything leaking our regarding if III is happy with him so far. There was so muhc hype when he first signed then a few bad espn highschool games and his stock dropped. I was just wondering what the Very early word is on him??!!!

Monroe is going to have the biggest impact of any rookie in the BE conference. Clark will be a significant contributor as well.

I would say we're a bit overrrated by the media right now. Having a lot of talent means we could potentially be great, but I'm always wary to start predicting great things before some of that potential materializes on the court. Particularly since we were probably overrated last year anyway (how many games in the Big East did we just squeak out? There is definitely skill in being able to close out games, but there were also some fluke shots), I'm inclined to be reserved in my predictions. I think we have a good shot, if we put it together, of a run at #4 or #5 in the Big East (#3 seems too high given the number of very-talented teams and other teams like us with potential).
I guess you could call that "fairly confident", given the difficulty of the league, but it's not expecting an elite performance.
I do, however, have confidence in the recruiting and coaching... so I'm not too concerned one way or another.

I assume Jessie, being from NYC.
My confidence for this first game is about 98%. There are always early upsets, but I doubt it will happen to the Hoyas tonight.
