Being so young, this years team is bound to have there ups and downs. Hopefully in the end the team gels and we go far in the tournment. My question is to people on campus or program gurus are you guys pleased with the new talant on the team this year? I know there just been Kenner and practices, i just felt id take teh temperature of the team before we go into battle monday!

This is very tough for me to have an estimate for my confidence. All I've been basing my confidence on this season is that I have plenty of confidence in III to get what needs to be done done. I have only seen the team at Midnight Madness (which gives no indication). I think I'll be better prepared to answer this after the first few games; after I actually see how the freshmen play and after I see how Summers is adjusting to a new role.
So while I can't say anything for certain, I AM confident that this team will be prepared and able to take on any and every challenge that they face

I hope we'll be okay. When you look at the individual parts... we look good. Summers, Freeman, Wright, Sapp, Monroe...that's solid. Feels like a Sweet 16 team. The questions remain however...how will the sum of the parts work together...will this team have chemistry... how long will it take to create its own identity... will we be able to peice together two solid halves of bball? time will tell.

This has alaways puzzled me. On every other team's message board there's always at leas 4-5 completely blind homers. If any other team had the talent we have their message board would feature at least 3 posts about how they're going to go to the final four and at least 6 on how they're winning the big east. Where are the Georgetown homers? Are georgetown students and grads just to logical to blindly support their team? It's just always seemed weird to me how reserved the board is compared to pretty much any other team that has success.
As for me I'm very confident. We will surprise a lot of People and JTIII will win the Big East Coach of the Year. We will finish top 4 in the BE and we will advance at least to the Elite 8. Let's get positive people!

Logical fans do suck We ain't gonna lose a game and only 4 will be within 10 points. It will be so frustrating for our opponents that both Boeheim and Huggins will throw chairs at the Verizon Center Crowd, and Gonzo will charge up the stands of the Prudential center looking for Hoya fans to fight. And it goes without saying that we beat UNC for the title on an absent minded pass from Hansborough to one of our players

Negativity is always considered logic on this board. I just don't know how talent gets ignored here. The Hoyas have tons of talent. Our last two Sweet 16 teams had, oh, about half the talent of this team. So yeah, I think we should be pretty confident this team can win basketball games.

Let's get positive people! I don't know what you've been smoking hoyasincebirth, but I just can't get over your absurd forecast. Don't you know anything about the Big East? There's No Way that anyone but Mike Brey ever wins BE COY. Oh, the rest of your predictions? Right on my man!

As you may have noticed Giga, Lic and I and some others have been forecasting a very bright season for this team.... once they get a chance to work together and learn the system. First half of the schedule could be a little rocky, but by the second half this team should be rolling. We have superb talent and even better coaching. Only thing missing is experience. That will come.

As much as we want the Hoyas to succeed, history has taught us to be realistic with our expectations. In 2007 we overachieved. Beating Duke and Carolina in the same season was too good. Last year, losing to Davidson after being up by 10(?) was disappointing. Carolina in 82, Villanova in 85, Duke in 89, UConn in 1996 in BET, all were disappointments. Having said that, this team is young, but probably the most talented of the JT III era. This year may start off slowly, but by March they should be very, very good.
Go Hoyas!!!!
