I was wondering what the board thinks in terms of who will be our statistical leaders this year? Here are my picks:
Minutes Per Game - DaJuan Summers Points Per Game - Austin Freeman Rebounds Per Game - Greg Monroe Assists Per Game - Chris Wright Assist/Turnover Ratio - Jessie Sapp Steals Per Game - Chris Wright Blocks Per Game - Greg Monroe Field Goal % - Austin Freeman Free Throw % - Austin Freeman 3 Point % - Chris Wright

this looks pretty good to me, ill have to think about it more. one thing is that if clark were to get as many minutes as monroe is going to get, i would have him as the rebound leader.

I pretty much agree with this list, As I said this summer in watching how the players had progressed in Kenner, Austin Freeman is going to have a huge year this season. I will go on record and say he will be 1st team this year, and highly considered though he might not have the numbers to be player of the year. I really think Wright and Sapp will make a huge effort to get him those spot-up shots in transition and he will be more aggressive in penetration in the half-court, also cause I think with Greg rather than Roy the lane will be more open.

Great list but if Jason is our 6th or 7th option then I think that he will probably lead in steals.

I think that's better fitted for Dajuan or Jesse!

I agree that Freeman is poised for a huge year. A lot of people are sleeping on him, but he is going to have a really noteworthy season.

I hope everyone keeps sleeping on Freeman and the team in general - much prefer the underdog role.
Since it had been discussed on the board some last year I made a point to take note of Austin at the open practice. He looked like he had spent quite a bit of time in the weight room (very tight end-ish lic) and ran the sprints well too. Wasn't winded a bit :-)

Don't be surprised if Awesome Freeman explodes on the Big East this year.

If the Hoyas can win the Old Spice Tourney - no one will be sleeping on them anymore - just losing sleep thinking about playing them.

Here is a prediction:
Jason Clark has a better season than Chris Wright. By the end of the season Clark will be playing down the stretch in close games over Wright.

I really expected more people to challenge my prediction of Freeman being the leading scorer, but it seems to be a consensus pick, more or less by the fans here. It's interesting because Freeman is hardly getting talked about by the media. I'm excited to see him jump up on people's radars.
Also, I haven't seen Clark play yet, but the enthusiasm for him is eye-opening. I'm looking forward to seeing if he indeed does lead in steals or crunch-time minutes.

I'm saying that for Freman based on what I saw this summer, he really has a complete game and I think he was just trying to blend and defer because of the guys on the team last year. He knows this year he is being counted on more, and he just scores so effectively without taking that many shots. I think people around the country think of him as a stand-still shooter. When he is a superior driver of the basketball in creating contact. We didnt see much of that except maybe the @st.Johns game last year.
Jason Clark is just one of those kids who does alot of things well and is a flat out scorer. You just know he is on the winning team at the end of the day cause he just makes plays. For the people who havent seen him, He will be noticable immediately on the court cause he is involved and has a nose for the ball.
