OK, here's the full iPod. Much larger selection: Flex-It Formula - Professor Murder Window Of My World - Guided By Voices Oh, Goddamnit - Hot Hot Heat The Love Cats - The Cure Satellite - The Replacements Beat City - The Raveonettes Smile - Lily Allen Suedehead - Morrissey Happy Holidays, You Bastard - Blink 182 (OK, a little embarrassed by that one) Fix Me Now - Garbage Unbelievable really that I went through that with only one Cure song and nothing by Depeche Mode or New Order. (Two Moz tunes did come up though.) The Smiths (slash Morrissey), DM, NO and The Cure -- or as I like to call them, the Mount Rushmore of the alternative 80s -- make up a huge part of my overall collection, but no dice. Note to TC: after this election I really have to stop hating you, since that was a pretty damn good 10.

9. Mr. Bojangles (Walker) I'm impressed you put Jerry Jeff's original recording on the list -- about 900 different people have recorded more popular versions of that song. Incidentally, Mr. Bojangles was Richard Nixon's favorite tune. I'm not sure what that says about your taste in music.

You never have to be ashamed of liking a James Brown song.

Incidentally, Mr. Bojangles was Richard Nixon's favorite tune. I'm not sure what that says about your taste in music. Just that it was his only redeeming quality? I love Jerry Jeff; saw a concert of his about 35 years ago at Cornell, when I was a grad student.
