....if you had a conservative political action group that had been accused of voter fraud and -- in some of the cases -- is being investigated by law enforcement in: - Connecticut- Wisconsin- Nevada- Ohio- and which recently has had its representatives CONVICTED of voter fraud in Wisonsin and Colorado - among nearly countless arrests, convictions and improprieties over the last several years in other states....do you think that such a conservative group might be the subject of a deep investigative report by The New York Times or The Washington Post, or have a feature highlighting their shady and or fraudulent/illegal activities on one of the network nightly newscasts? Ignore Obama's alleged ties to the group for the moment. Just focus on the group itself. Wouldn't you expect this group to be more in the national news? Why do I get this funny feeling that there are managing editors at these major organizations who believe -- despite countless exculpatory investigations after the fact -- that the 2000 and 2004 elections were "stolen" and so whatever ACORN is doing is justified because of it? Or, equally nefarious (and here I will bring Obama back into it just for supposition), they are ignoring it because it could be damaging to their candidate of choice? No matter what the reasons, the lack of attention to ACORN is ridiculous. (and let's not forget that they use taxpayer money to perpetrate these actions)

I will grant you that there are instances of shady tactics (not always illegal, but definitely shady) on both sides.
But when one single organization is so consistently singled out for the same fraudulent practices over and over, when one organization has so many of its representatives charged and convicted with crimes, when one single organization is consistently tied to investigation after investigation, I would expect just a little bit more attention be paid to that group.
(I will also grant that ACORN is not too tightly organized as a group, but that doesn't excuse the people in charge from monitoring the activities of those who represent them.)
I would also expect that the government -- who has heard testimony about these practicves -- might want to stop giving them my money.

First, it was The Weekly Standard (followed by Google), not RedState. But I guess it makes no difference. We conservatives all share the same information up in our dark castle with Dracula, Texas Oil Guy and Sideshow Bob.
Second, once again, forget all about Obama's association with ACORN. I am not interested in that. I am interested in this affiliation of community organizations that seems to have a pattern of illegal activity.
Yes, I realize most Republicans are trying to link Obama to ACORN, and he does have some ties. But I don't care about that. The organization should be investigated at its highest levels. I'd even be willing to have Obama's name eliminated from any investigation (yes, I realize that this would only happen in fantasyland, but I'm just trying to be clear about my area of concern; you can believe me or not; I don't really care that much).
Finally, if you think that Obama has a plan for this economy, you're really fooling yourself. Neither of them does, and we all know it.

You see, this is my dilemma- while I don't like McCain's Kill Bart policy, I do favor his Kill Selma policy. Where does Grover Norquist sit at those meetings?

Does anyone else think the Democrats stole their "Barney Smith"/Smith-Barney line from the convention from "Councilman Les Whinen"?

I have largely stopped watching new episodes of The Simpsons, but I am thinking this year's Treehouse of Horrors episode may be worth setting the DVR (then figuring out when it actually starts based on how late the NFL goes). Citizen Kang was 1996, and there was a leaked clip somewhere in which Homer tries to vote for Obama but the machine is rigged to vote for McCain this year.

Geez, way to link, no-link! ;D (just in case some of you decide to get on my case about this, this is also a Simpsons joke, so lighten up)

My linking ability is also an example of pure incompetence.

I would have cared about this before Republicans began suing to remove owners of foreclosed homes from voting. While Republicans don't seem to understand they've ceded the high ground long ago, at least they can secede from campaigning!

I saw this covered on CNN last night. Pretty long story, too. So, it's not like it is being ignored.

It is pretty despicable. It's been going on from the beginning of democracy -- and there will be fraud/intimidation this election on both sides as well -- but this needs to stop when it is found out.

Cigarettes are money to many Obama supporters... Cartons of cigarettes are a safer investment than the stock market these days.
