Geraldine Ferraro is a racist hatemonger. We've already been over this.
If Barack Obama was a white man, nineteen months removed from a short stint in a Midwestern state legislature after a rather modest career in academics and law, no one in the world would be interested in him. He would not be on the road to the White House at this point in his career. His triumph as a black man in a white world IS the story.

What we've established this election cycle:
It's racist to talk about race, even if just referring to your own background and experiences. It's chauvinistic to talk about a woman or her background, regardless of whether you discuss her gender. Black people who talk about how America, society and the media treat them differently are dangerous and unpatriotic. White women who talk about how America, society and the media treat them differently are strong and true americans. Alaska is the heartland of America. Hawaii is foreign. Washington is full of elites. We need change.

Actually, he sounds remarkably like Lincoln in that context. 2 Years as Congressmen for Illinois (1846-48) 6 Years in private practice as a lawyer (1848-1854) 2 Years "community organizing" for Free Soil movement (1854-1856) Appearance at Republican National Convention, considered for VP (1856) 2 Years unsuccesfully running for US Senate (1858) 2 Years successfully running for President (1858-1860) Elected at age of 52 to run incredibly divided nation.

Barack Obama, I knew Abraham Lincoln. He was a friend of mine. But you are no Abraham Lincoln.

Actually, someone suggested that line for McCain recently. I can't remember who. Byron York or someone like that. I think that line would kill if he did say it.
;D
(of course, Obama would have to invoke Lincoln first, and I don't think he'd ever do that; his supporters would, he wouldn't).
I have not received this letter, since I don't have an Obama for Pres sign. It's stupid. Don't really know what else to say.
In a larger sense, outside of this moronic letter that is, I think there is racism that works both for and against Obama, but who really knows for sure how much of a factor it will be. I don't think too many people are ever truly honest about things like that.

Nevermind that Palin's husband was the one who actually supported an organization that requested Iran's support in anti-American votes in the UN.
