Last time I made this thread it went awry because I made a wrestling reference and the topic got thread jacked. I will not make the same mistake this time. ;D
Who is the next high school player to become a GTown Hoya?
Lastly why am I sad that we did not get Hairston? I have never seen the kid play but I had high hopes.
Have we lost our recruiting momentum? Maybe not but it sure feels like it.

the next prospect we'll hear a decision on is probablly ryan kelly 09. He's visiting this weekend. Not sure if he'll commit to us but that'll probably be the next one we hear about.
Um hopefully roscoe smith is the next one to commit to us but who knows. I sure don't.

+1 on Roscoe, but after the Octavius Spann and Vernon Macklin eras, I worry about Georgetown's ability to develop players with awesome first names. We do much better with Jonathans and Roys. I guess that would point to Julian Vaughn doing big things for us.

This is a good point--history shows we're much better with the Patricks, the Erics, the Reggies, Allens, etc. Awesome names seem to spell doom for a players chance to be good at Georgetown (though an awesome nickname does no such thing).

I dunno -- we've had our share of cool names over the years. Not always stars, but Boubacar and his fellow African brethren in particular have usually done well for themselves.

History (recent) also shows we have had bad luck with the generic Anthony, Kenny, Wesley, Marc, Josh, Drew, Tony, etc.

JTIII seems to agree. Look at who we are bringing in: a Greg, a Henry, and a Jason. No wonder we cooled off of J'Mison

now i am worried about Hollis and DaShonte!!! oh man. But what about DaJuan; and the African names, i think, are excused because i dont *think* those names in Africa would be considered that out there.

I'm pretty sure Cheek has committed to Creepy at IU. He is also reportedly pushing for Chris Braswell to join him there.

HSB is right, CReek is at IU, and CHeek is still available. Don't feel bad 02 a lot of people have made that mistake.
FWIW, I think the odds of us landing Cheek at this point are <1%. I have no idea who the next commit might be, things have been even harder to read than normal lately IMO. Kelly and Triche are probably the next two to decide. The weird thing is that not only are we unsure how interested the prospects are in Georgetown, but also how interested Georgetown is in them.
