www.union.olimpija.com/4/11/6189/Internet assisted translation: After another friendly contest Caption under JWall photo: Wallace plays well in Ljubljana. Union Olimpija behind closed doors already played two friendly contests. In the first the Dragons had a large advantage over Elektre, and the Ljubljanians also won the second against Skofja Loka. In the contest with Skofja Loka, leading scorers were Begic (19 points, 13 rebounds), Wallace (15 points), Zupan (13 points), Crawford (11 points, 5 rebounds), Rudez (11 points, 8 rebounds), Ilievski led the team with 5 assists. The Ljubljanians now travel to Zadar where on Friday and Saturday they will play Avzomašem and Ural Greatom. The two teams they played are Slovenian teams. Zadar is in Croatia, but the two teams Union Olimpija will play appear to be Azovmash of Ukraine and Ural Great of Russia. Both are Eurocup teams. Khalid El-Amin plays for Azovmash.

My Slovenian is a bit rough, but it looks like the dragons won both games in Zadar. This weekend, they are hosting a preseason round robin tournament with Fenerbahce (Turkish -- I think), Panathinaikos from Greece (usually a strong team) and Maccabi from Israel, also a tough game. Each doubleheader (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) is a bargin at 10 euros.

Considering that Panathinaikos arguably has the best backcourt in Europe, that is a pretty good showing. Tyler had 9 points.

Posted by SirSaxa on Yesterday at 16:41 Is there a link to box scores of any news (in English) about that league? The games this weekend are preseason tuneups. Union Olympia will be playing in two leagues this year: the NLB league (basically teams form the former Yugoslavia) www.adriaticbasket.com and the Euroleague www.euroleague.netAdriatic league games start October 4.

Highlights video: www.olimpija.tv/browser/Union Olympia - Panathinaikos is the second game. Highlights include most of Wallace's points and a couple of Crawford assists.

Great shots by Jon, that 3 was DEEP (but hey, we know he can hit those easily). Not sure if it was him, but did he get a shot or two off the dribble? If so thats awesome!
