well i guess this hurts the Big East's overall strenghth, but maybe now ESPN will now move us up to the 8th best team in the conference.

Poor kid, gets screwed up with clearinhouse issues, then James breakes his foot, and then Crean burns his redshirt at the end of the season because he was desperate for big men. I also feel bad that MU's senior group couldn't live up to their full potential due to Crean's shortsighted failure to recruit big players

I don't think his failure to recruit bigs was shortsighted -- I doubt it was an intended outcome.
Mbakwe was actually the one who requested to burn his redshirt. He's almost transferred more than once out of Marquette and seems to not really knows where he wants to be.

Mbakwe was trying to get Tubby Smith to take him back to Minnesota--but no can do. Smith said he'd monitor him at Juco level this year--but he's got scholarships saved for certain players-Rodney Williams--and we'll see how it plays out. Mbakwe's attended 3 HS prior to graduating--and now is leaving Marquette after one year. So 5 schools in 2 years--I wouldn't take the chance on him if I were Tubby--and Minnesota program kept screwing up in taking transfers who left state and wanted to return--so why go that route again.
I can't wait to attend a Gopher game and dress like Tom Arnold behind the Indiana bench and act like I'm "buzzed"--imitating his mannerisms and calling him Creepy. I'm going to try and get a cutout of Jim Harbaugh--and put a wig on it--to even emulate his wife--but don't think it'll be allowed.

A little off topic, but still about a Big East team losing a player, kind of, it looks like Caracter from Louisville is finally gone for good, and is transferring to a school in Oklahoma.

Well school has started and apparently he isn't enrolled and everyone, including Pitino is saying he is tranferring to an NAIA school in Oklahoma. Now I am with you, when it comes to Caracter and Louisiville anything is possible, but it looks like he really is gone since he isn't even in Lousiville anymore.

Well Memphis has achieved this lovely stuff in past 2 days:
1. Hired 2 assistants/additions to their staff--1 is connected to Nolan Dennis-a recruit who committed them early in Summer-other is tied with Tyreke Evans who will be a Frosh this year.
2. Announced CJ Henry--older brother of Xavier Henry--will be a walk on--with Yankees paying his tuition at Memphis. He was an awful 1st Round Pick of Yankees--traded to Phillies, back with Yankees-and now to Memphis--to take a paycut and play hoops. Signed with Kansas to play PG out of HS.
Gotta love ethical recruiting. Speaking of no ethics--look up Gus Gilchrist--and how the situation worked for his PIMP--the "trainer" who was peddling him. He's now going to be on staff at USF as a Strength Coach.
This CRAP goes on repeatedly and isn't punished.

Sounds like a good catch for the Johnnies and it's sorely needed.
