You guys are both current students, right? Well, I'd pay to see you guys duel in a New South-style food fight at Leo's. But hold off 'till next semester when i'm back; until then, both of y'all should grab a beer. It might make Joe less of an abrasive character and 2007 might just care about the board a smidgen less. I was planning on going to the Tombs on Friday as it is. Kurt...Joe...you're both invited to join me, as you are both in fact good friends of mine. I don't care if you food fight as long as you don't touch my food. Maybe we can work this whole little thing out and get FLHoya a nod for the Hoyatalk equivalent of the Nobel Prize. You know, I echo the sentiment above...just not a good look at all coming out of that timeout by McGrath. Very Esherick-era in its "jack-it-up" philosophy. At least letting the game flow you have a chance of catching a defensive breakdown and not launching a 25 footer. What's the deal with Providence this year anyhow? Wasn't there some "great sleeper" talk thrown around about them? At this point with an 0-5 start in the Big East where every game's a battle, where do you go from here? It's worth noting that we play Providence at MCI in the final regular season game on March 5th. One has to wonder not only what kind of implications that game will have for the post-season aspirations of our squad (I'm assuming most of the Board hopes we won't still be needing one more win to be NIT eligible!), but also what kind of Providence team we'll be facing by that point in the season.

Look it up in a dictionary or use Google. I actually know what it means. "To the man", or something like that...I just never thought it was appropriately used by, um...previous posters...on the old board. I thought BC should have denied McGrath the ball and fouled the Providence ball-handler on the inbound (I was listening to the BC radio feed from Yahoo! at the behest of Sister of Joe Hoya). You can't come back from a 3-point deficit if you only have two free throws (or a one-and-one, since BC had only 6 fouls). Just box out on the rebound of the intentional miss of the second shot, and cover it up and go to the line to ice it. Welsh had put in a few bigger guys from his bench to get the rebound of the miss, assuming Skinner was going to call for BC to foul. I think if you force one of those guys to the line, it works out in the end for you. Although, BC missed 4 out of 6 FT late, so who knows. I would've fouled with the one-and-one in effect, but that's just me. And as for the previous request from a certain self-proclaimed biggest Hoya fan on campus...uh, no.

Ok Joe, I'll admit that calling myself the biggest Georgetown Basketball fan on campus was pretty cocky and sort of an Edited comment.
I should not have said it. However, before I ever mentioned it I had been told that countless times by people who have experienced my devotion to the program. I shouldn't be stating that myself, but please tell me who is a bigger fan, please!!! Because I would love to meet them and work with them on improving student support and spirit on campus in general. I'm not trying to be an Edited here, but I really have not encountered anyone or ever seen anyone at a game, or seen anyone take the initiative and try to improve support themselves and feel that Georgetown Basketball is as important to them as it is to me.
My life priority list: 1) Peace and Happiness on Earth 2) Health and Happiness of Family and Friends 3) My personal Health and Happiness 4) Georgetown Basketball
From this point on I will simply avoid all of your posts and not respond to you in any way, because it's clear that we just cannot interact in any kind of respectful and civil manner.

the eagles have no shot. the only reason they are in the superbowl is they played 2 dome teams at home. the nfc stinks. you blitz mcscabb up the middle and he's clueless. they are very flawed without TO. on defense, you can throw over the LB's all day. brady will not choke like culpepper and vick. the pats are all over the eagles like oprah on a cheeseburger.
pats 34 eagles 17

Is anyone else finding the GUHoya2007 v. JoeHoya war hilarious. You two really need to stop it, people are gonna look at me funny at work with all the laughing coming out of my office.
I'm not sure, but I think I like the AvantGuardhoya v. the_way war on the Rudy Gay thread better, but, really, at this point it's too close to call.
Thanks everyone for making my days a little brighter.

This has the makings of Hamilton v. Burr, although both of these guys will try to shoot first (read the section on the duel in Ellis' book, Founding Brothers).
Also, 007, you clearly have misplaced priorities if Georgetown basketball is only #4 on your list. What's up with that?!! (only kidding!).
I'm seriously rooting for the Camp David-like peace talks overseen by FLHoya. Where is reality TV when you really need it. That would be must-see TV.

My life priority list: 1) Peace and Happiness on Earth 2) Health and Happiness of Family and Friends 3) My personal Health and Happiness 4) Georgetown Basketball 007-I don't believe this is ACTUALLY your priority list. We all know that for your personal happiness is intriniscally tied to Gtown Basketball and that it's performance can affect whether your happy or not (and it has a direct affect on your mental health). I'm not saying this is a bad thing, just that that list isn't right. ;D
