Another fairly pointless question. But given the number of people who jump primarily for the money, why would you even suspect Broadus was a defining factor? Because didn't sign with an agent until the last possible minute and seemed to be generally conflicted about the decision. He ended up making I think the right decision, but if he was at the "flip a coin" stage of decision making, then something maybe as little as having someone he respected on the sidelines would have made mr. sixer seem like a text messaging prophet Again I'm not trying to prove anything or bash anyone, I'm just casually thinking outloud during lunch

But you're extrapolating importance of KB from when Jeff was a senior in HS to whn he was a junior.
Jeff simply said he trusted Broadus because he didn't blow smoke and part of that is probably because he didn't know most of the staff yet.
To extrapolate that importance to three years of being coached by Burke, Thompson and Matt Henry plus three years of friendships with Roy, Jon, Tyler and the other teammates, etc., and still say Broadus staying or leaving was a deciding factor...
That seems sketchy to me.

Finally a good summer thread! In my opinion, if Jeff had gone to WG, it would have been because of our poor facilities. good call. i hadnt even thought of that yet

Wow. Lots of intriguing questions. Here's another intriquing one...
If Broadus had stayed, but Jeff decided to leave anyway, then would that have meant that Broadus' impact had lessened? So then, would Broadus actually have been forced out due to his decreased role? If so, would this have the resulted in several other players leaving because they were so incensed at the way Broadus was being treated? And if that were then to happen, would several other recruits, like Wright, Freeman, Monroe and Sims have then see the writing on the wall and then not commit to GU? Which would then leave the program in the crapper, and JTIII being forced out?
Intriguing. Really.

That doesn't mean he didn't have one sooner.

I'd like to pose the question:
Is Broadus such a good recruiter that he can recruit a player too talented for even Broadus to coach?
