Guys and gals,
In the interest of housekeeping (or at least in the interest of having someone else besides Dan do the housekeeping!!), I've locked the two RFD and Mr. Days threads in order to have one FINAL vote on where we should watch the game in the DC area. Some ground rules:
1) Please don't pull a 007 and bypass cookies to vote multiple times! We only recommend that for non-HS.com sites!
2) Voting will take place until 8 PM ET tomorrow night (1/27/04). The winner at that point will be the place we should assent to watch the game. This is fair to the individuals who are working with both RFD and Mr. Days mgmt. in order to facilitate a group outing (thanks to both persons in advance).
3) Non-DC area board posters are more than welcome to post ideas in this thread on their own local venues to watch but please refrain from voting in the poll. In other words, don't vote if you can't attend!!
That's it. May the best venue win!!!

This, as my good friend and fellow alumna Will would say, is why democracy doesn't work.
Seriously, just pick one people.
For those in San Francisco, we will be at Bus Stop on Union.

I've already piched RFD's. Being in DC, it is more of a central point for the MD board members. Even though I am out in Fairfax, I am willing to drive the extra distance. As I said on the other board... I just got off the phone with the manager at RFD's (next door to Fadu/ right up from MCI, (across from Hooters) and they get NC-8 as well. He also is calling his cable guy to see if he can also get the ESPN full court for the day. The place is huge, and they have 3 large screens, as well as a number of smaller (32"+). They have over 300 beers/30 taps, and great food. He said that he would run a special price deal for us also (which may also include an appetizers special). I know the guy and he is pretty cool. Along with the TV's and deals, I also imagine that we could get an area designated for us too. It also is right near the metro. What do we think? Just another idea! www.rfdwashington.com/Could get a cheap buffet going...? RFD's is really a great place to HoyaOut! (that didn't sound like a speach, did it?)

RFD is where it's at, esp. because we're in the shadow of the Phone Booth so it even FEELS more like a home game!

The Hoya Hoop Club just sent this week's newsletter, which encourages people to join the Class of 2000 at Baileys. But if there's a good constituency for RFD, I say go for it. It's nice to get the Hoyas back to a place where we don't need to gather all fans into one bar in order to get good turnout for a game watch.

Rule update: Voting will close at 10 PM tonight! Two extra hours because I have to be downtown this evening!! As a fan and alum, I'd like to support wherever the HHC sends folks. As an admin, I have to respect the integrity of the democratic process! As a beer consumer, um, no comment.... ;D
