Can't say current players.
I don't know if he was the biggest, but WW was right up there.

I'll give AP an out cause of the clearinghouse mess and injury and coaching.

Wilson really seemed to have game, but I'll never understand what the hell happened in 2003. That whole year was like a nightmare except for the fun NIT run. Speaking of Wilson, I was watching some of the Hoya highlights on ESPNU and they are showing 2001's game at the Carrier Dome. His ejection in that game is one of the more inexplicable things I've ever seen. Its funny, its seven years ago but that game still makes my pulse quicken. And I admit that I have no specific memories of it even though I'm sure I watched it. Just seeing us go down at the Dome hurts and makes me hate Syracuse and anyone associated with it. I know that's not Christian, but its how I feel.

Some of the decision making of Braswell defies explanation, but he did make two clutch threes to keep it close. At times I wanted to see more Hunter, Perry and Riley on the floor. What's amazing about that team is the amount of size and depth they had.

IIRC he "Tony Skinned" a guy to earn that ejection, right? In my opinion, Wes Wilson beats Anthony Perry as bigger enigma during my time on the Hilltop. Wes had one very good season sandwiched in between two non-memorable ones -- AP simply didn't live up to fairly lofty expectations. The only other guy who played during my undergraduate years that I'd nominate would be Brandon Bowman. I thought of including Lee Scruggs, but he wasn't really an enigma, just a 6'11" guy who really wanted to be Allen Iverson and didn't want to waste any time in a classroom.

Tate /vinson, Sam Jefferson another top 50 recruit who couldn't get on the court for 3 years. Anthony Jones top ten recruit who saw the writting on the wall with the signing of reggie, and bolted to UNLV. but to me the biggest Enigma was M. Graham. what could have been.

people might strongly disagree but i think had Macklin stayed 4 years he would have been one of biggest Enigmas in Hoyas history considering the one and done hype etc the "BIG TICKET" had coming in.

First one I thought about was WW - but how the H. do we have to wait for "reply 10" to get to MICHAEL GRAHAM? 36-0 in '85 AT LEAST - and who knows what MORE after that?

Perry gets a bad rap--he had nearly 1,000 points for his career and was largely set aside in 2001 to feature Demetrius Hunter.
Mike Tate (Venson) was hurt and never fulfilled his potential. Same for Jonathan Edwards, who a lot of people forget but he parlayed a 15 year pro career in Europe.
But here are three I'll never quite figure out what happened to their potential:
1. Anthony Jones 2. Jerry Nichols 3. Wesley Wilson

Ed Solano. BTW, anybody know where he is? How about a "whatever happened to" for Bob Ward? Where did he transfer?

Anthony Jones 2. Jerry Nichols 3. Wesley Wilson My opinons/memory? Wesley Wilson -- badly mishandled by the coach Nichols. Everyone said he just wasn't quick enough. Sure could shoot. I remember once he did a 360 dunk in a game. Pops didn't like that. As for Anthony Jones? I was discussing this with AvantGuardHoya earlier today. Jones was a top 10 national recruit, with Bill Martin and Patrick Ewing. Freshman year, he was an important contributor off the bench on the Final Four team. Lightning quick, great athlete. Sophomore year, he had a bad injury, missed some time. But as I recall, he had a lot of emotional issues (Head case?) Some sad he had a tough time playing in DC before his homies. He also had a really strange stretch where he could not hit a free throw. I mean, he missed like 20 in a row or something. We're not talking Vernon Macklin, Jones was an excellent shooter. The story as I heard it, he and JT talked at length and, for Anthony's own good, JT helped him transfer to his buddy Tarkanian at UNLV. But AGH and I agreed today the whole story was very strange. Jones' potential and "moments' showed he could have been an absolute superstar. Maybe someone else has better info. If so, please share.

Wilson is high on the list. To me, there is no explanation for his 2003 season, although I understand he had some personal/ family issues.
Nichols is also up there. He should have made SOME contribution.
But I agree with the sentiment that Graham has to be at the top of the list. He was SO good, SO quickly, and then gone SO soon.
