anyone out there can get to someone to make some heart attack hoya two chapter two revisited or jt3 version or something for new tees as we get to february is 2007 the tee man can they talk to hoya blue and mabye the athletic dept or hoya hoop club lets get on a roll were back same excitement and intensity and fun but new era go hoyas I remember those shirts; on the front, they read "Heart Attack Hoyas" and on the back, "Beat Lefty's Turtles!" After reading the SU coverage, I had an idea for 007 to develop another shirt. All it needs to say on the front is the following: "I am sorry another Coach Thompson is on the bench at Georgetown." - Jim Boeheim I'd love to see the students wear that when SU rolls into town!!!

I'd love for HB to push t-shirts even more in the future. This season, they only did the t-shirt give-away during Game 1 vs. Temple. People who came to later games haven't had the opportunity to get t-shirts, so the sea of gray has been thin in spots. So, I think the first priority should be to improve on what is there.
That said, I would love for us to have more events-oriented t-shirts such as those that you have outlined in this thread. Given the aforementioned problem, however, I see this as a plan for the future.
Incidentally, I'm currently putting my thoughts together for next year's t-shirt. The design will be similar, based on my convos with 007. My thinking at thsi time would just be to change the message on the back of the shirt to the following: "... AND WE ARE BACK!"

I'm also a big proponent of Hoya Paranoia I I I It's Spreading but i think Kurt knows what he's doing... For next year, the best thing to do is keep the front design (also makes it a little easier on students as they would now possess 2 shirts w/ the proper design) and change the back quote. I like Borat's suggestion for the back, but maybe JT3 will offer up another gem like the "we will remind them" before the next shirts have to be designed.

That's the plan, Bird. I just am tossing ideas out there for the sake of it.

I also think the shirts should look similar in color and style to the existing shirts, so that students/alumni could wear either and to the opposing fans/media it would look more uniform (and thus, intimidating). The sea of gray is raging!

Exactly, I think the design is great as it is and just changing the quote on the back and doing some minor adjustments would be best.
This way a lot of people already have the shirt and we would be able to cover a lot more of the arena with the next batch of shirts. We don't function like a big state school where they can just come up with a new design and hand out 10,000 shirts at a single game, so we have to try to keep things the same and establish a tradition so that MCI can eventually begin to resemble a sea of gray.
We don't have nearly enough shirts even for the student section this year. They are in extremley high demand and we dont have any more to give out. I have a few left in my room that alumni are emailing me about and the only others are in Kim Franks office. We should definitely keep the design basically the same and really build on it so that almost everyone has a shirt of that basic design and can wear it to games.

Definitely keep the front-design and the colors, for all the reasons you guys have been pushing.
I don't know much about how this works, but I would assume that the athletic department would be more than happy to pay for a new batch, considering what a great atmosphere the shirts create in the student section. I really think that 2007 and his band of brothers' efforts have played a part in the resurgence of this program.

Agreed also on keeping the front design, and lots of great options for updating the back so far. I would add the following suggestion, in keeping with our Catholic character: "God in III Persons" While I am resigned to using my Larry Bird-like leaping ability to catch a Kurt Shirt for the rest of this year, I think nick might be on to something. Could we set up some donations a/o ask athletic dept. to make another run of shirts this year? I would be more than happy to kick in if we could get more shirts out there to students. Just a thought, and I apologize if it displays any ignorance of how things work with AD, HB, HHC, etc. As long as we don't put too much on 007's shoulders. Again, I'd be happy to help out if I can.

Thanks for the feedback in this thread. I think, in many respects, this season has been a trial run on a lot of things. The whole t-shirt thing has exceeded my wildest expectations, and I think some of the issues that have emerged simply reflect the fact that we could not plan for some of these eventualities due to resource constraints and our original forethought.
After the season concludes, I think 007 et al. (myself included) will put our heads together in preparation for the 2005-2006 season.

i do not think it would make sense to make another t-shirt run for this year, is there are only a few home games left. it would take time to get the run done again, and time to collect $$$$ for them.
Next year it would be great if every season ticket holder as well as the students received a shirt for each seat they have.
that would help the sea of gray expand to the entire lower bowl.

Kudos to Kurt and the students for the sea of grey. It has looked great on TV when the cameras provided a crowd view. I think the idea of a new shirt is a good one. Also, keeping the grey color and the same front design makes a ton of sense for the reasons stated.
Some of the suggestions for the back of the shirt are great. I always liked the Hoya Paranoia reference. Working off that makes a lot of sense. It draws on the tradition of the program.
Perhaps, "HOYA PARANOIA" "WE'RE BACK!"
As for BubbleVisionBiff's catholic school tie-in suggestion, how about "FATHER, SON & HOYA SPIRIT"
A tribute to JT, JT3 and the rejuvenated hoya bball constituency.
I would be happy to make a contribution for the shirts as well. Maybe, the HHC and the University will even sanction the contributions and permit alumni annual giving credit. I know it's been done before.
