Following on what FL was talking about, a lot of storylines have emerged regarding the Hoyas this year but lost in this is the play of Ashanti Cook. The freshmen have been great, JTIII has been great, we knew how good Brandon was, and I've even seen Owens discussions as he moved to a bench role.
But this season has been as much about the steady play of Ashanti Cook. Despite averaging over 9ppg and having 3 times as many assists as anyone else on the team last year, AC was left for dead by many fans. His shooting percentage was terrible (never mind those hands in his face on a team with no big men) and he was seen as someone we needed to replace.
Well sophomores become juniors and weak frontcourts get two BE rookies of the week, and Ashanti is now playing his game. He's a true combo guard. He can push the ball and make the pass (To Roy or DO for a winner) and he can hit shots from all over, even creating his own when in trouble. That three from Tony Cheng's he hit tonight to seal the deal was a truly difficult shot and he made it look easy.
So the guy sandwiched between Colin Falls and Gerry McNamara in the 3-pt shooting% rankings for the Big East deserves a lot of credit. He's become a very important, if unsung, part of this team.

Good point giga. Not enough has been said about Cook.
I will add, however, that his being "left for dead" was related to his "development" under the previous coaching staff. The JT3 coaching staff has proven to be far more effective and developing AND motivating players.
Cook himself was quoted earlier this season about loving the new system and how great it is for players. He knows what is expected and is learning how to fit into the system. That said, his end-of-game plays against Nova and ND were brilliant individual efforts that combined great athleticism with excellent decision making -- all at the speed of light and with no room for ecord. (why does this system always make that change to the word for mistake?)
And to think, we get Cook and Bowman back next year as seniors! BTW, has anyone asked Bowman lately out he feels about NOT transferring a couple summers ago? Those guys lucked out, so did JT3 and all of us.
