When will we see anything official from GU? When next year's roster is posted? Keep in mind that the school is forbidden from commenting on recruits until they have signed a letter of intent. Chris never signed one for 2008, so there is no way that you are going to get any official comment. If Chris signs one for 2009, then there is a chance that coach will say something, but I won't be holding my breath for that one.

Look at the front page, www.hoyasaxa.com/sports/bball.htm, where it lists the Bio's of the players on the left-hand column. "Recruit: Chris Braswell" is no longer listed there. MOD NOTE: Keep in mind that the HoyaSaxa.com basketball front page is NOT an official arm of Georgetown University, as the disclaimer on that page states:I would therefore not read anything 'official' into the listing on that page.

Lic - you are correct, but the ESPN story link and HoyaSaxa.com front page link to it appeared AFTER the post above that I was responding to. At the time, the only thing out there was the line in Barker Davis' article.
Nevertheless, neither HoyaSaxa.com nor this Hoyatalk board are official arms of the university. For anything official, you have to head to guhoyas.com.

Rick Vaughn? When did he get out of prison? I believe he's turned down our scholarship offer so he can fulfill his dreams in the California Penal League.

while reading about the dashonte riley commitment on espn: "Riley is the third prospect to pick GU from the class of 2009, joining Hollis Thompson (Los Angeles/Loyola) and Chris Braswell (Baltimore, Md./Hargrave Military Academy), who was originally a member of the class of 2008."
sorry dont know how to do the abbreviated link thing:

By comparison, they rank Monroe at 92.

FWIW, ESPN has Riley graded at an 86 (out of 100), with Hollis at 89 and Braswell at 40(!?!?!?!?) By comparison, they rank Monroe at 92. could that be because braswell "reclassified" to 09, so they just havent put the grade out. (yeah they could use the rank from the 08 class, but that would mean espn actually doing something smart)

Is there any reason Braswell isn't on the scholarship table? I mean, shouldn't he have the same status as any 2009 verbal commit?

I suppose there is a chance he may never come to georgetown, although i doubt and hope that's not the case.

I suppose there is a chance he may never come to georgetown, although i doubt and hope that's not the case. It was under a different coaching regime, but the last player who was committed to come to Georgetown but needed to take a victory lap in high school never made it to the Hilltop. Darian Townes ended up at Arkansas.
