Congrats, Jeff!
Great story for recruits... You don't need to be a McD AA to get 1st Team All-Rookie honors. Just come to GU and become a better player...
Could Roy make it two in a row? We'll see.

Congrats to Jeff. I wonder if the Gtown "system" hurts players . For those that have not watched his highlight tape(warning language):

Jeff showed that the all-around tools he learned at GU would transfer beautifully to the pro game. He deserved his #5 selection and he proved it this year. He also showed signs late in the year of really becoming a top-level player in the NBA with some big point and rebound games. He learned how to exert himself and try to dominate this year. Congrats JEFF! Now go teach that ability to take over to some of your former Hoya teammates this summer.

#5 pick in the draft, #5 All-Rookie...guess whoever decided to draft him at #5 made the perfect call

I remember a thread last year talking about which rookies were going to make the biggest impact. Of course Greg Oden and Kevin Durant were getting most of the press Nationally but probably the three names that kept coming up most from us were Jeff Green, Al Horford and as much as I hate the Noles, Al Thornton. Seeing all three of them on the team, I guess we do know a bit about basketball.

I have been out of town without internet access, but I just saw the all-rookie team and Jeff was #5 vote getter. I am glad the voters recognized Jeff's worth. Congratulations Jeff.
