Man, that'd be sweet.
He's cut out for Dallas, with his white suit chicanery

Sheesh....I just don't get this guy. After finally getting Louisville to a place where they are ready to make a legitimate run at a national championship....he's considering jumping ship again!?! Talk about totally abandoning a program when they need you most. And to think that he would consider doing this after players like Clark decided to come back and play for a BE title and possibly more. I had little respect for Pitino to begin with, but if he leaves for the NBA for a 3rd time now.... I'd lose all respect.
An nba coaching job for Pitino will always be there for a guy like Pitino.... having a team that is ready to make a run to win it all is rare and an opportunity he shouldn't abandon. Timing is everything... and in the case the timing would be terrible.

i dont think he'll make the jump unless Cuban totally breaks the bank for him..Even then, its difficult seeing him ultimately leaving after his Celtics experience. I think this is nothing more than Cuban feeling out if there would be any interest from Rick

I remember an interview with him like a year ago where the reporter asked "What would it take for you to return to coaching in the NBA?"
Pitino's Answer: "Reincarnation."
Seriously, the NBA is totally different and he's a really good college coach. I think he stays.

There is only one scenario/pipe dream where I would be totally at peace with Pitino jumping ship and chasing paper.... that is, if Samardo left as well and joined Monroe in the Hoya front court.

I don't think Samardo would be happy going to a school where he'd have to get his shot stuffed back into his mug every day in practice! Ba-ZING!!! ;D No, seriously though Mr. Samuels, you can't trust that Pitino guy. You should transfer now and not take any chances.

Why would it surprise anyone when a carpetbagger packs his carpetbag and runs? What next, surprise when Larry Brown doesn't stick it out in Charlotte?

Pitino's name is getting no coverage out here. Most of the talk is around D'Antoni or even Paul Westphal.
Cuban doesn't have to move on this until the draft, so he can afford to wait.

Undershirt went on midway through freshman year after he caught a cold.

Donnie Nelson, GM of the Mavs, said that he will not select a head coach from the college ranks nor one that is currently on the Mavs bench.

I just heard somebody say Larry Brown to the Mavs but havent found proof anywhere. UPDATE: sounds like it was a radio talk show host talking out of his ass... sorry if anybody bit on it.
