Friend of mine recently told me about the year Max Kenyi had at Gonzaga - guy sounds very legit (friend told me he did a great job v. Clark and O'Connell this year) and is headed to Harvard of all places.
Wondering what our resident experts and those who closely follow DC/WCAC think of him. Sounds like a great kid, bright and defends extremely well.
Sorry if he's been talked about before - search for his name yielded nothing in previous threads.

I followed Gonzaga this year (I'm an alum), but I'm no expert. That said, here are my thoughts. He is very good defensively and appears to have worked hard to improve his offense. He has a very pretty outside shot, but it takes a little long to develop, so I would worry that he won't get it off against top competition. He also seemed to be very streaky. Bottom line - He doesn't look like a BCS-level recruit to me.
Assuming he keeps his commitment to Harvard (they don't participate in the LOI program, so he can technically go anywhere he wants without repercussions, and he has been rumored to be wavering), he should do very well there. Otherwise, he is probably not much more than a mid-major talent. There were rumors about high-major interest (I think Crean was calling before he left Marquette), but I haven't heard anything recently.

This is what was sent to me (and hence the reason for my question)....
Figured he was originally a mid-major kinda guy, but thought that might change given how the season had shaken out....I know that this is a big snippet, so apologize if it violates the spirit of posting rules...
RISE selects Gonzaga College High School standout as Gatorade Washington D.C. Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year In its third decade of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade joined with RISE Magazine to name senior guard MAX KENYI of GONZAGA COLLEGE HIGH as its 2007-08 Washington D.C. Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound senior swingman averaged 13.8 points, five rebounds, three steals and one block per game during the regular season. He capped the 2007-08 campaign by leading the Purple Eagles (34-1) to a 49-43 victory over Bishop O’Connell in the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament final. Also the Player of the Year as named by Washington Catholic Athletic Conference coaches, Kenyi led Gonzaga to both the WCAC and City Title Game championships. He recorded 30 points on 13-of-16 shooting from the field in a 71-63 victory against Bishop O’Connell in the WCAC title game. The Most Valuable Player of this year’s Kobe Bryant Play-by-Play Classic in Pennsylvania, Kenyi will participate in the 35th Annual Under Armour Capital Classic on April 13.
Kenyi has maintained a 3.31 GPA in the classroom. In addition to volunteering as a tutor at the Perry School Community Services Center, he participates in multiple community-service initiatives, serving food on behalf of the McKenna’s Wagon mobile soup kitchen and donating his time to mentoring youth athletes at Gonzaga’s Purple Eagle Basketball School. “He has the ability to just take the game over,” said Gonzaga head coach Steve Turner. “Max puts up big numbers in big games on both sides of the ball. Not only did he score 30 points in the conference championship, he shut down one of the best players in the league. He’s always been a heck of a defensive player, but he’s stepped up on the offensive end as well. As a senior, he had an understanding of what we wanted, and he was a leader on both ends of the floor.” Kenyi has verbally committed to play basketball at Harvard University this fall.

At least a top 3 player in a down year for the WCAC.
