handle, as in inability to get his own shot. I done with it. He's got a schollie. I just would've like to see a skilled grinder down low.

If his shot is as "Nice" as you guys say it is, I could see trading offense for defense.
I'm assuming his defense is not up to snuff...I have no proof that that's the truth...

he came out before everyone a couple times this year and i got a chance to see him shoot, and while a pregame shootaround obviously isn't indicative of a player's in-game readiness/ability, nikita definitely has a purer stroke than anyone on our team. i think he hit 12-13 in a row from nba range--we're talking very deep--and his motion was as silky as it comes. set shooter, too, so you don't have to worry about him losing his shot when his legs are tired.

12-13? Wow! Come on. Who out there doesn't want to see him play at least 5 mins per in November and December (unless we have another Top 10 opponent)? I'm looking forward to his Kenner League stats.

If Nikita can contribute to a particular game situation, he will play - if we need a shooter, JTIII will get him time if he is good enough. If he can't, he won't. Our outside shooting was certainly sporadic last year, and you can NEVER have too many shooters in the college game. He would not be here if he didn't have the ability to help us - we just have to see how that ability develops.

Wasn't there also a language barrier cited as a possible reason for the Redshirt? Any update on that?

I think that he will become a valuable role player over time if the attitude is right. His shot is supposed to be really nice. A 6'8" dude with a pure shot will get time on most teams.

He could become Kyle Korver or Eric Piatkowski.

Then he should fit right in with the cerebral Princeton offense the Hoyas run.

Wasn't there also a language barrier cited as a possible reason for the Redshirt? Any update on that? I heard the same thing. Hopefully a year of practice with the team would help that. I have zero expectations for Nikita. Anything he does contribute will be a pleasant surprise.

Second page of this thread? Officially hi-frickin-larious.
Of course, I'm also currently taking bets on how long that lasts before skins start getting thinner, something mean-spirited gets posted, and the whole thing spirals out of control into Lockitup-ville. ;D
