Royski, don't get orgasmic, but you forgot Riley for '09. BTW, judging from this season, DaJuan, Wright and Freeman looked like four-year players. If DaJuan has an incredible and consitent junior year, he may jump. If that's the case, we'll be outstanding next year. As for Wright and Freeman, it's really too early to tell, but it's not as if they dominated when they were in the game. I'm sure they will be the leaders by their junior year (thus, IMO, no chance they leave after next season). There's going to be another scholarship for '09, but that doesn't mean it's going to Riley. JT3 might decide he wants Kyle Rowley a seven footer that's the top prospect in Illinois instead. Rowley was at the L'Ville game, so we're definitely recruiting him. I don't have any inside info, but I don't think we can assume that Riley is going to be on the Hoyas in 2009. It seems likely right now, but I wouldn't count on it. For these discussions, I'd just list "6'11+ freshman center". ;D

For the NBA?
I'd be surprised if he left after his junior year...

Dajuan has as much talent as any combo forward in the country. Half these cats get drafted on potential anyway. Dajuan is also a smart cat and understands what he needs to work on before making the leap.

He has so much to work on. His handles and body control are hot garbage. That is a lot TO overcome in a short period.
Just curious who do you compare him with that is currently in the NBA?
The good news is that I dont see anyone on our team that has the potential to leave early. I see a lot of very good college players whose game does not translate well to the next level.

Antoine Walker. High IQ, PF body, SF game. Good game when surrounded by other good players. Walker will post a little, but hates to bang. Like Dajuan, stays mostly on the perimeter though.

Just making an attempt to change the tone of the board from the gloom and doom of sunday. We have an absolutely incredible program, and the best coach in the country. There's tons to be excited about, crushing as the Davidson game was.
And I did not forget Riley, I just didn't want to include an uncommitted player for fear of jinx...

I'm not sure if that's who I'd compare Dajuan to. Antoine is/has been a very crafty player who can go inside and out without relying much at all on pure athleticism. Dajuan's game is somewhat dependant on athleticism and almost devoid of craftiness.
That said, Dajuan has an NBA future, provided he works on a few things which everyone has already made clear. He needs to work on his handles to the point where he is comfortable getting to the basket with either hand...without charging or turning the ball over. He needs to work on his mid-range game, and he needs to develop a dependable post-up move or two. Obviously, this won't happen overnight...but it's realistic to think it could happen to a certain extent with a summer and season of hard work.
Dajuan has an NBA body and NBA athleticsm. He also has pretty good range and a pretty good first step. Nearly as important, and much like Jessie Sapp, he's got guts. He's never afraid to shoot and he's rarely been accused of not being aggressive. (Although not that important, I found it funny and intriguing that Dajuan always seemed to shoot the first shot of the game his freshman season on a team with Roy & Jeff).
As for who I'd compare Dajuan to in the NBA? No one comes to mind immediately. I'd throw out there JR Smith and to a much lesser extent James Posey (he likes shooting 3's)...but neither are too accurate. If/when Dajuan gets in the league, his game will be much different and more advanced than it is now.

Dajuan HAS TO develop a midrange game. If he could give a pump fake on the perimeter to get open 15 footers, drive to the rim, or use the initial drive to start making assists, he'd be pretty damn good. A pump fake is pretty effective, I just don't think it's taught.
Back to the 2 years from now topic: In two years, Henry Sims will break the backboard on a NCAA championship winning dunk.

With the 3-line going farther back, I would say that the pump fake has to be in everyone's arsenal next year.
