from what i saw most of the season, our returning guards usually shot from about a foot behind the line anyway, especially sapp, so it won't make much diff to them. i'm a little more concerned about summers, though.
also, IMO, mrsixer is right on with this point - a big part of the III offense involves good looks from the FT line and the elbows, which we lacked this year. our offense succeeds when we can spread the floor, make better cuts and open passes, have guys like summers and monroe spot up from 12-15 feet, and <hopefully> utilize the speed and agility of guys like wright to drive-and-dish or take it in. another foot of space to spread a 2-3 could be worth a couple more buckets for the hoyas per game.
either way, it'll be interesting to see the effects. i'm sure kenpom, hoyaprospectus, and SFHoya99 will provide statistical comparisons and analysis.

It would have been a problem if Roy had another year and decided to make the 3 ball a consistant part of his game, but unless we want any of our centers shooting the long ball I think we'll be fine
