My goodness. Scheduling Illinois has turned out to be an absolute MASTERSTROKE.

And it will be even better next year on the road, assuming they're remotely as good as this year. A loss would count only .6 against the record, while an upset win would, in addition to provding a real signature win (see Nova v. Kansas), add 1.4 wins to the schedule.
As to that Villanova win (at home, no less) over Kansas, it was worth 20 spots in the rankings on that one win alone.

For RPI nuts out there. In a world in which all other things are held constant...
1. Our current RPI is .5898, good for #34 in RPI rankings 2. A home win over St. Johns would actually drop us to a .5880 rating, which would drop us to 35 or 36 in the rankings. 3. However, a subsequent win at BC would boost the RPI to .6060, good for about 25th in the RPI.
***(#3.b) A loss at Conte Forum would still improve our RPI, based on the strength of schedule improvement, to .5937, currently 31st in RPI.
These calculations are all subject to change, and I believe in one step at a time, but things are definitely looking up for the Hoyas.

yeah too bad we didnt beat them! Just out of curiosity what do we want tonight? Syracuse to lose to Rutgers for RPI cause we play them again or syracuse to win? I know its pretty much a non point as this one will probably not be that hard for them. Im just wondering.

That's the age old question. Root for Rutgers is you think RPI is ultra-important.
Personally I would like Syracuse to be a top five team and when Georgetown comes up for discussion we get commended for having taken them to overtime.
I will now light myself on fire for having said that.
