I love how that extremely close non-call against WVU has morphed into an obvious goaltend and an atrocious missed call by the ref. I saw that play a dozen times in super slow mo and still am not sure if it was a goaltend or not. It's ridiculous to say that the ref could have done anything else but swallow his whistle.

What's funnier is if it WAS called a goaltend, I bet it goes down as bad officiating in this article anyway...

That right there is the beauty of ESPN. Indignation for the sake of indignation.

The really good teams win regardless of the officiating.

Yet nobody mentions the GAG job WVU did at the FT line. Nobody mentions the fact Nova shot 5-32 in the 2nd Half--I'd say that played as big of a factor. If you don't want officials to be a factor in outcome of a game--score more points.
Is this the year of the FEMALE DOG? I've seen more FEMALE DOGS whining about things this year then any before. Maybe it's because they all seem to whine/moan about how lucky Georgetown is--you make your own luck--you have opportunities throughout games to win--and it's up to the players on court to decide game. A play at the 18 minute mark of First Half is just as critical to game as a last second call/non-call and Hoyas should be applauded for how they overcame tough calls against them/WVU double digit lead instead of that last play. Nova game was a disgrace to the sport from both teams--fitting end to that unwatchable drivel.
BLEEP Katz--and his Wisconsin loving behind.

Being a fan of two football teams which recently won championships based on "bad calls" and then with the Jeff Green "travel" last year, I've become kind of philosophical about this. Unless the officials are purposely throwing a game, bad calls--like injuries and bad weather (in football but also in basketball if you play in the SEC!)--are just part of the game. It also helps to look at things in a historical context: numerous important historical games have had controversial calls or non-calls in them--are we supposed to go back and change the result? Just as an example from a game that we all think of as being pristine: in the "Ice Bowl" where the Packers beat the Cowboys on Starr's QB sneak, Jerry Kramer (the Packers guard) was offside on the play.

I agree with Jarnin. Unless its an intentionally off call (cough ted valentine last minute spotlight stealing calls cough), its just part of life. Thats not to say I don't lament certain calls on a particular play from time to time, but they are not game deciders. As a Jets fan, you quickly learn regardless of the calls, good teams find ways to win, and bad teams find ways to lose.
And just to tweak all of the O's fans, two words: Jeffrey Mayer.

Where was all this whining when Colin Falls went Micheal Flatley on Bad Brandon? Or when Seton Hall went 6 on 5? Huh?

Thanks for bringing Jeffery up. I'll be in a bad mood until friday. Go Hoyas.
