If losing to Pitt keeps us out of the East and a matchup with Carolina in Carolina, I'll take the 3 seed somewhere else and be happy with it. Carolina and UCLA and Memphis are the 3 teams I'd rather not see, in that order, but I'd think UCLA and Memphis are not as much of a lock to advance to the final 8 as Carolina. Or did we play our way out of a "higher" 2 seed somewhere else outside the East by losing to Pitt and now we'll get stuck there anyway.

whys everyone so afraid of carolina. home court stuff is overrated. we match up well against them. rather carolina in carolina than memphis or ucla.
as our 2 games vs pitt and our game vs memphis shows, we struggle against teams with big guys up front.

I want the #2, in the East.
I want UNC in the Regional final, again.

Count me in the minority who does NOT care if we get seeded to play carolina in their state. That might be our punishment for tonight - although I'd rather have another rematch with Memphis - or be matched against Tenn. (who might not make the SS) or Kansas on neutral courts. I appreciate unc and believe they have a nice team, but I've seen them a few times this year, and it seems that with all their talent, they seem to be very vulnerable, and like us, seem to have the ability to pull out games late. Send us anywhere with a two or three seed - whatever. We gotta play and win whoever so BRING IT ON... I'm just hoping we get seeded to play Thurs/Sat since I don't want to be distracted with my TEAM on Good Friday I'm too weak - I see myself breaking and NEEDING to watch and cheer my boys on. GO HOYAS - We're ALL STILL WITH YOU AND BELIEVE IN YOU!!! Don't stop, even AFTER you get to San Antonio!!

i think we'll be in the east no matter what
just depends on what wisconsin does tomorrow in terms of seeding
we blew a trip to raleigh tonight, that's what i'm so upset about

I think if we had won, we would have played our way out of their bracket, as there was a good chance we would have been a top 2 seed, now there is no avoiding Carolina if we make it to them. . If UNC loses tommorow, that may shake things up a bit, but I'm not sure.

Uh, hey sleepy, no way we are a 4 seed. We can only play UNC in the elite eight. I say we are the lowest 2 seed.

I was UNC in NC. Why not? If we don't beat UNC...we don't DESERVE to go to the final four guys. We have to beat the best to be the best!

have you guys watched carolina this year? despite all the talent, they're not that good. they only play defense or play hard when they have to. until last week, their best win was against clemson, who they would have lost to both times if clemson could hit one more free throw in each game. clemson and duke are the only top 25 teams they've played all year. ty lawson is not explosive or quick at all right now. he went 1-8 yesterday. ellington has been pretty inconsistent too and seems to shoot poorly when you put a long defender on him. yeah, they would kill us on the offensive glass, but i'll take my chances with that. kansas and ucla have more talent and better coaching. i'll take carolina in a heartbeat over those two

My concern with UNC is a healthy Lawson. We don't have an answer for him when he's at his best. The rest of their team can be inconsistent as you point out. When we are methodical and patient, we can match up well with them.

Not sure why we should fear UNC, we beat almost the same team last year. Lawson was supposedly too quick for us in 2007. Playing in Charlotte adds another dimension, but we have the mental toughness edge over those guys, I like the match-up.
I am more interested at this point to see who we have to play to get to UNC. That could be the key, the NCAAs are all about match-ups.

The only thing that scares me about playing Carolina is Charlotte

I understand the "scared" factor with playing in Charlotte...you know, seeing as we haven't really had a W in a hostile enviornment other than Marquette. My thing is, as a GEORGETOWN FAN/PLAYER/COACH..we're not scared to play anyone! Yes, we did beat them last year, but in mosts opinion...it was due to coaching. I'm not worried about Lawson. We'd definitely have to keep Hansbrough [however you spell it] off the boards, keep Ellington from easy shots, don't let Danny Green provide a spark. I believe Rivers can contain Lawson once again...But we CANNOT beat ourselves as we have in our few losses this season.
