Hey folks.
So BubbRubbHoya is pretty psyched at this hour. I just locked down tickets with three others (CraigsList is on fire right now), and we're heading up from DC this afternoon (sorry, boss).
Are there any good places where people are parking? I know that NYC is ridiculous with garages, but are there any deals? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
See you in section 309!

The best way to do it is to drive to one of the NJ Transit stations, park for $3 a day, and take the train in for the last 20 miles. Metropark is generally my go-to, as it is right at the intersection of the GSP and the NJ TP... saves you driving through the misery of that part of the turnpike.

There are tons of parking places between 30th and 36th west of the Garden where you can park after coming in the Lincoln Tunnel or coming uptown after taking the Holland Tunnell.
While I am a big transit fan, the idea of timing your departure with a train line, getting on and of trains at midnight, etc - I mean just drive in and park and leave when you want.
The issue isn't parking, it might be traffic at the Lincoln Tunnel inbound on a Friday, which can be tough even though it is technically a reverse commute. But I would drive in and park, there are tons of places.

i really wouldnt do the new jersey thing. having done the nj/ny commute myself trains running to nj at nite can be slow and irregular and you could be standing on a platform for a long time waiting. and at that hour traffic in the city should be good so driving will be fast. msg is very close to the lincoln tunnel entrance. i would strongly recommend parking west of 8th ave and south of 30th street and walking a few blocks so as to avoid potential gridlock. anywhere else around there and you could be stuck in traffic. google ny parking lots to look for somewhere close by. heres one. www.iconparking.com/

Thanks for the info, eveyone. PopeJohn, great link with icon; I printed off a $15 coupon, which should be pretty good. Thanks again.

If you're going to be there overnight/through Sunday night, taking the transit from NJ works great, IMO. I did it last year for the final, and had no problems. Weekend parking was pretty cheap too, if I recall.

If I go tomorrow, I'm parking my car at the NY Waterway ferry in NJ and taking the ferry over. Parking's open 24 hours and ferries run every 20 minutes for like 20 hours a day.

My plan is to drive up from Washington and then hop a train from New Jersey. Is there a station with 24 hr. parking about 3 1/2 hours away from DC where I can catch a train to MSG and then from MSG a couple hours after the game? Any ideas are much appreciated.

Metropark is probably your best bet. It's like a 30 minute NJ Transit ride from Penn Station. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropark_(NJT_station)

Jackdog--Hoboken might be a decent option too. You're a bit north of Metropark, but you're basically right across the river from the City and can park and take the PATH train (http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/) in from there. I've done that before and it worked pretty well.
